My goodness, such a blatant show of immodesty on this family forum! :shy: grinsmiley

I'm totally in the Christmas spirit....I spent the day at Greenfield Village with my friend, went through all the pioneer homes with fireplaces and pioneer food being cooked. It was coooooold, but fun to go in each home and warm up! Here's a pic of a 'typical' table top tree of the era:

Then we went to Plymouth Michigan and did some gift-shopping---Savannah, we went in a Thomas Kinkaide Gallery and the I saw the picture in your banner done up in a huge painting! Oh my gosh, gorgeous!! I would LOVE one of the Kinkaide 'real' paintings in my home, especially a winter scene. I love the warmth of his 'real' paintings when you turn the lights down and actually see the 'lights' in the painting.

Ooooooooh, Amy!! Greenfield Village at Christmastime! I'd love to have seen the Thomas Kinkade Gallery.

And I don't know if I dare go back and look at what Rob posted.

Me too! I've been to the Thomas Kinkade (my favorite painter) gallery here in the central coast... and I love looking at all the paintings there. Thumbsup

I had to share my Grandfather with you all. His name is Charles Brown, JR., and sadly he passed away on Christmas Eve almost 12 years ago. Not a day goes by that we all don't think about him and we miss him so, but he was such fun, not just to us grandkids, but to eveyone who knew him.

He loved to do silly stuff, and here he is dressed as Santa. He did this for his little pre-school pals at his church. Boy, did they love their Charlie Brown!

I hope you enjoy the picture.

Aww, your Grandfather really looked the part of Santa. What a wonderful thing he did each year for all those kids.

Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

He was truly a gift from Heaven! He made life fun for us, and he was a loving grandfather. I could not have asked for better.

I really miss him and his sense of humor.

Oh I know... Christmas time is often a time of reliving old memories and remembering loved ones. It's a good time to thank God for them!

It looks like I missed a great party! And those cookies, and the cake looked really good too. Not quite as good as Rob's family's stuffing recipe :haha: maybe, but definitely very good to someone who has a huge sweet tooth!! Wave
