I saw that article this morning. That sure is alot of kids! I havn't seen their TV show, only some of the first things they showed about them. I saw too a while back where their oldest son Joshua was married this year.

Great! Looking forward to #19!

Me either. I think it's too many. JMO.

I say to each their own but I one reoccurring nagging thought is why not enjoy the new one and stop worrying about "the next one" or "more?" Good grief!

They're already planning for more, so they said in an article. Geeez.

Their oldest son just got married a few months ago. I'm sure that they'll want to start a family sometime in the future. I think that 18 children is more than enough. She doesn't need to take the spotlight away from her first grandchild. It's her son and daughter-in-law's time now.

I also agree, but I wonder if she and her husband would think it's "cute" to have their babies and grandbabies be the same ages? Hmm.

Michelle said that she knows her child bearing days are coming to a close... she's 42... but in other words, she said she isn't stopping until she can't really get pregnant anymore... :unsure:

They asked Michelle (Josh's wife) about kids and she said she wants to also have a big family...

that is a lot of children. i thought that it would be cool to have aunts that were my age, but that is not happening.

like you said, i think that she should just stop, cause now Josh is married, and if i was his wife i would be kind of upset. just my thought though,

From what I can understand after watchng the show, Jim bob and Michelle don't believe in birth control. They believe that every child is a gift from God. I can understand that if God wants to bless them with more children, they would be willing to accept His gift.
As long as they are providing for each and every child and all are well and happy, I can't condem them for having more children. Personally, I wouldn't want that many but I do beleive that every child is a miracle and no baby is an accident.

I don't know, but I thought it was pretty cool to have an Aunt who was only a few years older than I am. My Aunt Rebecca is just three years older than I am, and is actually younger than her oldest nephew. We were much more like sisters, or cousins than Aunt & niece. It was quite a surprise for my Grandma. My Mom found out she was expecting, and just three weeks later, my Grandma found out that she was expecting, too. Sometimes life just throws unexpected things your way.

On my dad's side, I have one aunt who is six years older than I am and another, her sister, is seven years older than I am. It's pretty cool. We can talk and relate better than with some older aunts or uncles, but on my mom's side, there one great-aunt (grand-aunt?...she's my grandmother's sister.) who is 23 years older than I am, but we get along like we're the same age. I'm 40. That's how it was with my mom who had me at 19. She and I were best friends, and she and this aunt were like sisters. My mom was three years younger.

I sure hope the new daughter-in-law is up to all the attention. Then again, with she and Joshua (is that is name?) having their own life, they may not be in the spotlight much anymore.

I watched last night's show when the 18th baby (Jordyn) was born. Michelle was planning on having a natural birth but had to end up having a c section because the baby was sideways in her, as a result of the uterus being so stretched out from her former pregnancies. Someone said that the uterus can no longer hold the correct shape and hold the baby upside down, so the baby was not in the correct position for a vaginal birth. Most likely if she keeps having more kids (which I think she is), she will have to have c-sections, and she's already had 3 of them. She's truly pushing it with her body. Doesn't she think about that... or doesn't Jim Bob?

I can understand having that many kids in older times... for survival, etc... but now? I don't really agree with them when they always bring God into the number of kids they have. Yes, children are a blessing but God doesn't control the number of kids you have, they do. The Duggars are part of a movement called Quiverful and don't believe in birth control and feel like planning a family is up to the Lord NOT them.

But, to each his own... all I know is that I hope this shows continues till the 4 older girls get married and leave... THEN things will get interesting when those girls won't be around to do much of the big work load they have.... should get interesting for Michelle lol
Another thing... there are some people who say: "Hey, I know someone who can't handle her 5 kids and here is Michelle handling 17"... Wrong! Truthfully, if it were not for the buddy system, for the fact that the older kids handle the younger kids... there is NO way Michelle would handle all those kids.

Anyway, yesterday's show showed the Duggars going to this place to buy something for the new baby. One of the little boys played with this toy that when you pushed it, it played music and the boy started dancing, to me, it looked like he was imitating Elvis :haha: Anyway, of the big sisters tells him "Show me again what you were doing with that music thing" and then Jim Bob starts talking about how you have to be careful with music because it can make you move a certain way or something... hahaha...

am woundering...What if his wife doesn't want to have that many children!..Hope she doesn't feel like she has too!..............
