Seriously? Quentin Tarantino?! What does he know about singing?

Jacob, oh no!!! I can't even imagine American Idol without Simon. Not sure it would work at all. Well, this is probably the whole reason they brought Kara in, since they knew Simon's contract was about up.....she's more hard-nosed like he is, so maybe they're hoping to break us in to the three judges, with Kara being the 'somewhat' brutally honest one. There's only one Simon though.

By the way Jacob, I like your new signature...nicely done!

OH I know!!! I just watched her again, this time searching Youtube instead, and I see they cut off some of the beginning, some of the judges comments after, and also Susan's reaction when she went off stage. I'm reduced to tears! Now this is a rags to riches story. THIS is where AI is missing the boat.

You are so welcome Savannah! I think this woman is going to be selling out concert halls as well as CD's! Pretty awesome, and definitely inspiring.

Wow---I'm kind of shocked Danny didn't get much praise from the judges. My gosh, he brought me to tears tonight! Sometimes he falls 'flat' for me, and in this case, he sounded different. He was especially controlled, subdued, and I felt the emotion. Yeah, he didn't change the song up, but I'm thinking if he had, I might not have been as moved! Matt did change his up, and yet it messed up the feel of it. Sometimes I just don't see what these judges WANT?!?! Ugh.

Kris---wow, that was amazing. I don't know where Randy was coming from there. Well I do...the beginning was pitchy, but he really cleaned that up fairly quickly. To me that's a sign of a good performer. It's like a figure skater who falls once in the beginning and keeps falling over and over again, vs. the one who can fall once and pick themself right back up and really shine, not allowing that one fall to set the tone. That was Kris tonight and it's too bad Randy couldn't see that, and left everyone with that feeling.

Like Kris, Anoop has just really good smooth vocals...they both have quite a tone. I think I can see myself buying either one of their CD's. Anoop is really coming into his own now, I believe.

I think Lil is going to be in the bottom three....I believe there are plenty of people who are going to agree with Simon on this. Honestly I didn't even hear much control from her on that either. Not feeling it from her lately, and I don't appreciate the 'talking back' either. She's certainly not winning any brownie points from me.

Not crazy about Adam's song choice, but he was still good on it, of course. I missed Allison's, but it sounds like the judges liked her. I can't believe how close they cut it tonight, and they didn't even allow all the judges to talk!! What the heck is going on?!?!

By the way, I guess Quentin Tarantino knows plenty about singing! He had some great advice! Thumbsup

Yes, when she started talking back I just said "Okay... time to go home".
The Rose is such a beautiful song and didn't need changing like Lil had them done.
My goodness.... WHAT HAPPENED?! She only wowed me ONE time!!! That was at the very beginning and then it all fell apart.

Geez! I turned it on with the sound muted, then started working on the computer and forgot to watch! Who was in the bottom three, and who went home?

Anoop, Lil and Matt were in the bottom 3. Anoop was sent back, safe, and there stood Matt and Lil. Matt had the lowest number of votes. I couldn't believe it! I think he's better than Anoop, Lil, Danny, Alison and Chris. The judges ended up using the "save" on him. I would have been "out" for the rest of the season if they wouldn't have used the save on him. He's been my favorite, along with Adam. If I had to choose, I'd pick Matt over Adam to win. Lil is really getting on my nerves. She needs to quit whining and talking about what an "artist" she is. I'm not a fan of hers.

Thanks, Teresa. So nobody went home? They don't send the next lowest vote-getter home in place of the person they save?

I'm not a Lil fan either. I liked her in the early going, but to me she's gone downhill ever since. I didn't care for her rendition of The Rose at all. I kept thinking about some of the really good soul singers they've had on in the past, and she's just not in the same league.

I agree. Look how Syesha just got better and better toward the middle of the competition last season, straight on through to the end. I wasn't even a fan of hers but I had to admit that she was the most imporoved performer...

I wonder if Lil is just really stressed out and not dealing well with being away from her kids? I mean, she has changed, even her personality, drastically from the beginning. I have to wonder if she just isn't cut out for this. She has young children...I mean, it would just kill me to be away from my familyfor so long! I don't know, I get this vibe that she doesn't even seem happy right now.

Well, Lil will be going on the tour, so I'm not sure how often they see their families throughout the summer. So she'll be away from them for longer stretches of time in the near future. I'm not sure how all of that is worked out.

Oh, I can't believe I forgot about that! I'm happy for her, their family does need this, it's just sad to think about the time spent apart.

Well, I was hoping that Lil and Anoop were the ones to go home last night, and luckily they were. I wouldn't have wanted to see Matt leave. I actually like him better than Danny. He's a better singer, in my opinion. They need to stop with the group performances if they're going to continue lip synching. It's ridiculous and embarrassing. LOL!!
I was also glad that Alison didn't leave, considering she was in the bottom 3 instead of Matt. She still deserves to be there. I like Anoop, but 2 had to go. I never saw him making it to the finals.

I'm thrilled about Matt---I was worried!! I watched his performance back again the other night and it really WAS good. I think Simon was pretty unfair to him....that was a really tough song to sing and Simon should have given him props for that. I am confused by Simon with Danny too---often Danny 'falls flat' for me, but that was my favorite performance by him! I just don't get it...I LOVE his attitude though, what he said to Simon last night. Lil could take a clue from Danny!

They haven't lip-synched the past couple of weeks, but I can understand why they had to this time because it was such a hard dance routine, and they would have been horrible on the dance if they had to sing with it. I LOVED the choreography---Paula really knows her stuff! But LOL, they barely even seemed to know the words to the song! At some point I just decided to enjoy the dancing and forget about the mis-matched lip synching. :haha:

Actually, I was pulling for Anoop last night. I really love his voice and I don't love Allison's. She's probably most deserving, you're right, but I would never buy a CD by her. I think Anoop appeals more to the 'masses'. I would have liked to have seen all the guys duking it out to the end. Should be interesting---right now I think Kris has a good shot against Adam. He is very well-liked and is only getting better and better. I think Danny could possibly beat Adam too. The thing is, there are a LOT of people who are unhappy that Adam is so 'polished' and that this was unfair right out of the starting gate. I honestly don't want to see him win. I love Matt, you all know that, but I don't think he's well-liked enough (for some reason) to stand a shot at getting past #4. Maybe #3, but that's a big maybe.

I maybe in the minority here, but I don't like Adam for some reason. Now, he does have a good voice but something about him gets on my nerves. He looks weird to me. That may not be a reason not to like someone; but I can't get past it. No

Loved David Archuleta performing last night....if it was a song I knew! mad I would have loved for him to sing, "Crush." He still looks like such a baby...and did anyone else notice he was wearing his jacket out there? Whistle
