I'll be glad when they do get to Hollywood. The auditions are fun, but I like it when everyone is selected and we start to get to know them better.

Yup, I remember them well. Amanda was the girl with the "skunk hair," wasn't she?

I was just thinking the same thing, Rob. I'm ready for Hollywood. I'm trying to think of the funny phrase that Simon has been using. I think he says, "This isn't gonna work, is it?" Is that right? He said it to a few people that had a bad audition. And then Randy......"Bizarre season 8!"

On the other side, that girl at the end of tonight's show touched my heart. Rose, whose father died when she was 13. I would love to see her go far.

I liked her too...what a horrible situation, losing your father and then your mother two years later?! How tragic. No Sometimes it really DOES boil down to personality. For example, as good as the "Amy Winehouse look-alike/sing-alike" was, I didn't like her personality at all. I liked the other girl that the judges liked, who had the 3 year old child and was getting a divorce. She's very pretty, 23 and it was her birthday. She had a nice personality and a 'spark' about her. Although I wasn't crazy about her voice, she was different. Not sure if her voice might annoy me though like Amanda's did. I pray we don't get anyone like her in the competition this time around! help

I thought I'd throw in a bit about a former winner:WELCOME BACK, KELLY CLARKSON!!!!!

Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" vaults from #97 to #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 this week. That sets a new record for the biggest leap into the top spot in the chart's 50-year history. The old record was held by Britney Spears' "Womanizer," which shot from #96 to #1 in October. Clarkson's song also enters the Hot Digital Songs chart at #1, after selling 280,000 downloads in its first week.

"My Life Would Suck Without You," the lead single from Clarkson's upcoming fourth album All I Ever Wanted, is her second #1 on the Hot 100. "A Moment Like This," her American Idol victory song, shot from #52 to #1 in October 2002. (At the time, that was the biggest leap into the top spot in Hot 100 history.) "Suck" is Clarkson's first #1 on Hot Digital Songs. Her 2004 smash "Since U Been Gone" just missed the top spot, though it has sold more than 2 million cumulative downloads.

Oh wow, I had no idea about this! Good for Kelly! I wonder what the 'vibe' is of the CD---must be better than the last one...I own and love her first CD, but I didn't bother buying the second because I thought her voice was annoying on the songs I'd heard. Maybe she's going back to her 'roots' instead of trying for a different sound. Thanks for sharing that Misti. Thumbsup

What did everyone think of Alan Osmond's son auditioning? I'm not seeing how that's going to work. To actually compete for American Idol as the son of a famous singer/family, when this is supposed to be a contests for 'unknowns'? It threw me off guard and I just wonder how they're going to handle it because it's obvious that he is very good and they're going ot have to make a decision. My hubby and I watched his audition together and we both said we could see and hear Donny in him! So cute!

I liked the Osmond son, but I think that there are better male singers out there. He was good, but I don't know if I see him in the top 3. Maybe, but I don't think he's good enough to win. We'll see..........I'm not even sure if he'd make the top 12, probably, but I'd like to see an "unknown" contestant do well.

Okay, my favorite line from Simon tonight was........"You're a happy little thing, aren't you?" LOL!!!!!!!!!!! He said that to the African American girl in Puerto Rico with the low cut, hot pink dress. Oh, and she wasn't wearing shoes. That was so funny!! I love his little side-bar comments.

Oh, I know Teresa! That was so funny! Gosh, she was interesting, huh? :haha:

I loved when Simon told that one girl that he'd call her employer to get her job back. He really did say that right off the fly too---you could tell. Then he really talked her up to the employer. He really does have a big heart---he just uses it, ahem, 'selectively'. Wink

And I agree about Alan Osmond's son---good but I wouldn't say 'great'. We'll see...

Sorry to hear about Kristy Lee Cook Jacob! :alright: RUN to Walmart!! FAST! Let us know if you got to her on time. Wink

Jacob, I just went to deepdiscountcd and they have a Kristy Lee Cook cd for $13.97. It's entitled, "Why Wait." I like ordering from there because it's free shipping, although I'm not sure if they ship to Canada.

Jacob, they do ship to Canada, but another fee may apply. It may be worth checking out, though.
