PostSubject: What Metal Lunchbox did you have?   Fri Jan 16, 2009 11:38 pm

So last time I went to an antique store I saw some cool metal lunchboxes and remembered how popular they were at one time. This thread is to talk about what metal lunchbox YOU had or which one you would have liked to have.
Since I used to like spiderman and liked watching other marvel cartoons, my dad bought me the Marvel Super Heroes Lunchbox. Here is a pic of me with it actually haha... and a video someone posted on youtube grinsmiley

After that one... I also had the Smurfs one Thumbsup

There were sooo many cool metal lunchboxes.... as far as which one I would have loved to have... well this pic shows you 3 VERY cute ones I would have loved (Disney Express, Holly Hobbie & Charlies Angels!)

--------

And how about you guys? What did you have? What did you want? If you have a pic with it... would love to see it! Thumbsup

I have no idea where it came from or where it went but at one time I had a Bonanza metal lunchbox. I remember finding it in our launtry/furnace room years ago and 2 houses ago. Back then I had noooo idea who or what bonanza was but I remember admiring the horses on the one side and wondering where that map was from on the other. Ohhh, if I only had it now.
I do have a LHOP metal lunchbox that I bought from Ebay recently and I will never part with it.
When I was going to school, I can only remember using plastic lunch pails.

when I was in kindergarten, 10 years ago, I had a metal lunch box with my favorite cartoon character, Madeline, on the front. I don't know what happened to that lunchbox!

Oh! My niece, Rachel, LOVED Madeline when she was little! Lately, I saw the directions for how to make a cake that looks exactly like Madeline's hat. I wish I'd have known how to do that when she was so wild about Madeline! grinsmiley

I'll have to think....We had some metal lunchboxes in the house, but I don't think we used them for carrying lunches in. I think we got them at yard sales, and used them to hold little toys. We had a metal Lone Ranger lunch box, and Holly Hobby, and a few others. I mostly remember the plastic ones, though.

I know I had this lunchbox. I also had a Mickey Mouse Club lunchbox. I really don't remember what else I had. I may have had Hong Kong Phooey, or I'm just remembering it from someone who I ate lunch with. I remember one of my friends had the Holly Hobbie lunchbox that is in the picture above.

Carol, that picture is SO cute!!!

I know I had the Partridge Family and Holly Hobbie.

Kermit the Frog---I'll admit I was crazy for that little green guy!

And this was probably my prized possession, I'm sure it was Kathy's too! grinsmiley

Although mine wasn't metal, this is a pic of the exact lunchbox I had growing up.

I had lunch boxes like Fess Parker; Branded; Have Gun, Will Travel; Bonanza and McHale's Navy Laughing .

Does anyone remember Sally Field as Gidget? I think that was actually her first acting role. The Flying Nun, I believe, was after that.

Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

Nope, my mom would never have just 'saved' something like a lunchbox, LOL. Plus that one was a vinyl one and those just didn't hold up like the metal or plastic ones. I sure did think that was cool though, along with my Donny & Marie dolls! :haha:

Mine was Peanuts! Love

And by looking at the condition of the one in the below pic, I'd think it was the exact one I had 30 years ago..

I remember having the Muppets and later Strawberry Shortcake. Strawberry Shortcake didn't smell so fruity when I left a tuna sandwich in it a day too long though. No
