Just a couple pics in the aftermath of the snowstorm.

My neighbor's backyard...

And a pair of evening visitors in my yard...

Wow! Gorgeous pics, Rob. And those two evening visitors look like they're waiting for Casey to come out and play. :haha:

One of the deer is almost tame, Lily. I'll let Casey out, and it'll just stand there and watch her till she gets right to the fence (which you can see in the pic). Then it just ambles into the woods a little way and waits for her to go back in the house.

Nice pictures! I have seen deer in our neighborhood before, but never in my backyard. What is that hanging next to the woodpecker in the third picture?

It's a piece of netting with suet in it.  Their favorite thing.

Oh, ok! Yes, they love suet... so do the squirrels though. We actually have woodpeckers that like our Goldfinch feeder!

It's a wild finch mix with thistle, white and red millet, and sunflower chips.

Thanks, we get goldfinches, chickadees, woodpeckers, and dark-eyed juncos in the winter.

I was about to ask who is Casey.... and then while I posted you must have edited your post and added a "picture" of her. Smile

Yeah, she was my golden retriever.  She died in November, 2009.  Savannah did that drawing of her for me.  Love

Thank you.  She is truly a gifted artist.  Here's her portrait of Caroline Ingalls (Karen Grassle)...

And this is our Prairie board member, Maureen, presenting it to Karen herself...

Smiley Hug Rob, thank you so much for your glowing praise.

And thank you, LauraIngallsfan! It still boggles my mind that something *I* drew is in Karen Grassle's hands. I was thrilled that Maureen had a chance to give it to her!

You are very welcome! That has to be a great feeling! But you didn't get to be the one to give it to her? That is too bad. Have you ever done a drawing of young Laura (Melissa Gilbert of course!)?
