| I suppose this is more or less for those who saw the show in its initial running. I know we've had multiple scenes deleted, since the beginning (like Sweet Sixteen & Laura's shoes), but this was an all out change.
In "I Do, Again," which really isn't my favorite, but this is what I remember. When NBC initially ran the episode, I very much remember it starting in the schoolhouse--not with Charles walking and reading. Class had just let out and Albert makes his way to the teachers desk where Laura is sitting, seemingly not feeling well (wonder why?). Albert asks her what is wrong and she had mentioned something about having an upset stomach. Then it went on--then to where we find out Laura is expecting.
Does anyone else remember that? It always stuck out for me because I remember catching the rerun and remember this scene completely missing. I always wondered if I had imagined it  or if maybe they had cut it and changed it so it wasn't such a give away.

| Hah...amazing but while killing time--I found it as one of the deleted/missing scenes. I knew it had been there and they only showed it one time. Heh! I knew I wasn't nuts--at least not yet.

| ok....Why did they delete scenes to begin with? And are they on the dvd's? I was so young when the show aired I proabably wouldn't remember things like that. I HAVE noticed that on the reruns they only run certian episodes though. I almost never see the episode were Rose is born. That stands out to me, because when it aired I remember our TV went snowy and did that rolling thing that TV's did back then. That was so hard to watch! Also I would give anything to see some behind the scene footage of filming, if that exists. I've seen the bloopers, those are great. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| I know I've seen some posts regarding the DVDs. Somebody else could probably provide the definitive answer, but I believe they're uncut in some countries and cut in others, including the U.S. I think it had something to do with the tapes NBC provided to the DVD company, but somebody else here would know for sure I think.
The American TV networks cut the episodes even further so they can fit more commercials in, as there is more time for commercials today than there was when the show first aired on NBC. Hallmark cuts the episodes more than TV Land does. As for Days of Sunshine, Days of Shadow, it's rarely shown because one part runs 90 minutes. Hallmark used to occasionally show the 90-minute episodes on Saturday mornings, but now that they're not showing it then I don't know when they'll show this episode again. | |

| I asked Rick, who runs a Little House site at http://littlehouse.sphosting.com/index.html, about this a couple years ago. He pretty much said that Paramount has a master set and a syndication set of Little House. The syndication set has some scenes cut out. NBC told Paramount to give Imavision the syndication set for the DVDs, so that explains why the DVDs are missing some scenes. The TV stations also have the syndication sets which are already missing scenes and they cut even more scenes out before they broadcast the show. It is unfortunate that Imavision didn't recieve the master set for the DVDs. It probably would have fit on the same number of discs. I have read that the versions in England are uncut, but I have no way to tell for sure. | |

| I found them in the topic here, LHOTP Missing Scenes (this page). The link is in the very first part. I hate it when they cut because I remember scenes. GRRRR |

| I think the thing that bugs me more than them cutting scenes is there selection of what scenes to cut. It always seems they take out something important that leaves a new viewer wondering about the episode. | |
