Squirrel ice cream

My four-year-old niece, Oliveah, is spending the night here tonight. She and I were doing some yardwork, while my Mom was doing some work in the garden spot.....Well, Oliveah was telling me that her birthday is next month, and she has everything planned already: "I'm gonna have a pink butterfly cake, and we're going to a park, and I'm going to have squirrel ice cream!" I thought she was teasing, and I said "Squirrel ice cream?? Suddenly I feel rather full" and covered my mouth in mock horror. She said "Don't you like squirrel ice cream?" I told her that I'd never tried it, but I was pretty sure that I wouldn't like squirrel ice cream. She sighed and said "Well, you'll just have to have cake then, and no ice cream, I guess, cuz I'm gonna have squirrel ice cream." I asked her "Oliveah, why do you want squirrel ice cream??" She said "Cuz!! It's all mixed together and has chocolate and vanilla, and...." Suddenly a light came on in my oh-so-slow brain and I realized that she was having SWIRL ice cream on her birthday! :Hahaha: I told her that I'd be glad to have some of the ice cream along with the cake. batEyes

Speaking of ice cream, our local parlour just opened and we were standing in the line and a person brought their Yellow Lab with them. I notice a LOT of people take their dogs up to this place each spring and summer. Well, the people ordered a 'doggie cone' and I thought they were just kidding, like it was just a 'kiddie' cone. But the place actually has an even tinier cone with an itty bit of soft serve ice cream, just for dogs! Too cute! Wink

The only kind of ice cream where you won't find any nuts on top......the squirrel will have eaten those first............. :Hahaha:

That IS too cute! lol

Here we have a place where they sell some homemade delicious ice cream... and the dogs are not left out... they also sell some doggie treats for them.

Aw, that's so cute! When I began reading that story, I thought at first she meant ice cream in the shape of a squirrel - like ice cream cake or something. :haha:

I'm loving the warm weather though - it gives me a better excuse to have my fave treat (ice cream)!
