LOL Misti, you crack me up. What did Dave say?

I honestly never thought about that. But I'm all for space saving too. So, probably cremated too.

Quite honestly, I don't care. I'll be dead - it isn't like I'm going to be doing any complaining about it. batEyes

I don't care either way what my husband decides if I go first. I'll be in a much better place--here ya go Rob, I lobbed one your way--so dig a hole or put me in the oven makes no difference.

Does anyone know if the Catholic Church ever gave up their ban on cremation? When I was Catholic you couldn't be cremated because you would be destroying the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Catholics have been able to be cremated for quite some time now.

Not sure what way I'd like to go! I've always had a fear of being buried alive so at least if I was cremated there wouldn't be any doubt!

Thanks for the information Maureen.

The thought of being buried alive is so creepy; even worse than the thought of drowning.

I'd like to make sure, even after 3 days, I'm well and truly 'gone' Jacob! It's a fear that's been with me since childhood and I doubt it's gonna leave me now!

Yes, Catholics can be cremated now....my husband's uncle was cremated. I did talk to our priest about it though, to get his opinion on how to deal with our son's confusion about it. Nick was about 8 or 9 at the time and it was a really tough concept for him, understandably. Our priest definitely was not 'for' the idea of cremation, that's for sure. And I do think there is more closure for the living family members to accept the loss...kind of like having an open casket.

For me, I choose being buried. But like you Maureen, I'm pretty creeped out about being buried alive! I'll opt for an open casket and that way everyone will know I'm good and dead! grinsmiley

And gosh, this is a morbid topic! Yikes HeeHee

I had never heard of them. And for the record, I'm also against being buried alive.

Aww...come on Rob, I would stop by the cemetary daily and feed you!!

I think buried is good enough for me. The thought of burning, dead or alive just bothers me. Although I know alot of people that want that and I have no problem with others wanting to do that. Just don't ask me to light the match. No

Hmm, the green burial is a nice idea, and it would certainly be cheap! Bill and I have joked about that----"just throw me in a box honey---I won't know the difference!" greenS But the idea of possibly being dug up by wild animals is kind of disturbing. scratchead

And the cremation jewelry? Just too weird for me. Bill's aunt kept his uncle's ashes for awhile before finally burying them. I just can't imagine the thought of 'keeping' my husband's ashes around like that. But that's just me. Wink
