Just wanted to share with you all how proud I am of my daughter Christine. Today she got the results of her GCSE'S - important exams taken here in UK by 16 year olds.

Christine took 12 subjects and obtained 4 A* and 8 A grades. She did study a lot so it was wonderful to see how that studying was rewarded. She loves science and wants to study Forensics or Medicine.

She'll now take 4 subjects for the next 2 years - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths - and hopefully do just as well in her A levels. After that it'll be university!

Can't believe my baby's growing up!

Thanks, everyone!

Don't know where Christine gets the brains from. I was SO not into science when I was at school and neither was her dad, though we both loved maths.

That is fantastic Maureen! Congratulations to Christine! What an accomplishment! yesss And I am convinced that anyone who has a natural ability for math and science pretty much has it made in this universe....you just can't go wrong in any of the careers out there that require that ability! Thumbsup Christine is on her way! Cheer

Thank you everyone. It's so good to be able to share my good news with all my dear friends.

I agree with you, Amy, about science and maths opening up many doors in today's world. And it also opens up many courses at University which we'll soon have to begin looking into.

My 2 kids are so different. Christine has, apparently, brains to burn while Ryan has learning difficulties. He suffers from mild Aspergers Syndrome. Just shows no 2 kids in any family are ever the same!
