A statue of Mister Rogers was dedicated this month in Pittsburgh. Here's a short article about it:

Click

It amazes me that the sculptor is 87 years old! Wow!

And here's a picture of what the statue looks like:

It's ten feet tall, weighs over 7,000 pounds. (Again: Wow!)

I checked to make sure I was right about it before posting this one.

Savannah.....

Well, with that statue, they can truly sing with pride, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood....."

He certainly is deserving of that tribute. I never even watched Mr. Rogers much as a kid, and neither did my children, but I have learned about Fred Rogers, the man, and he was one incredible human being. Thumbsup

This 87 year old sculptor is quite the inspiration. yes

I watched him too long ago. I used to think " he stops to wait til I answer." He truely was the first one of his kind that interacted with children. I have his book :The World According to Mister Rogers{ Important Things to Remember}.
Glad to see such a tribute...he was a wonderful man. His two boys sure were lucky to have such a great dad.

what a neat statue! I watched his show when I was younger. When I was in middle school, I had a history teacher named Mr. Rogers, though I don't think he was quite like the Mister Rogers that this statue was dedicated to. Laughing

I of course watched this as a child, loved him. I am so proud that he was from my hometown. I almost met him once. I cried when he died. It really broke my heart. What really makes me sad is that they recently tore down his set and painted the brick pathway from the set. All this during the same week of the dedication I believe. :(

What a very nice tribute to a wonderful man. I watched Mr. Rogers as a child, and then again with my own children.
