How cold did it get there last night?

Hey! I feel like a little icicle walking around. I complain when it's too hot, and then when it's too cold. That's why my favorite season is Fall. It's been waaaaay too short a season the past few years.

I think that it was about 10-14 degrees below zero last night in Minneapolis. I'm sure that northern Minnesota saw 20-30 below. Fortunately, it's supposed to get back into the 20's this weekend, so it will feel like a heat wave. LOL!

How about you guys? Did you get more snow?

Well, my area got about 10 inches in the past few days, but only a dusting last night. The northwest coast got a lot more overnight, with all the lake effect.

You've got us beat as far as cold. I think we only got down to 9 above.

I remember watching the weather as a kid, and International Falls, Minnesota, was always the nation's icebox.

There is a town way up North called, Embarrass, MN. They hold alot of records for coldest temps. I could NEVER live in northern, MN.

And LOL, Brendan said that Kalamazoo (where he goes to college) was colder than it was in Antartica the other day!! (of course, that's not how he dresses...he wears a fleecy sweatshirt and no hat or gloves. I guess he's rebelling from the days I used to dress him up like Randy in "A Christmas Story"!

LOL, Amy! That's how I dress Emily every day now before school. She's in 1st grade, so they go out for recess if it's above zero. She's always HOT before she leaves the house. I do see alot of older kids coming home on earlier buses, that are in highschool, and they get off with their coats wide open, no gloves or hat. I'm like, what the heck??????? I'm freezing just opening up the garage door. LOL!

And here I was thinking of moving to Embarrass, Minnesota to escape the Michigan winters.

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one. What I find really aggravating is the people who send their kids to my daycare under- dressed for the weather. One of the moms let her 3 1/2 year old come this morning with NO coat. I must say, that's a first, in almost 18 years of doing this. Granted, we've had a warm-up, but it's still only around 35 degrees! What are these parents THINKING?! What I see more and more is parents who just let their kids do what THEY want to do, rather than have a 'fight' in the morning, over something they consider to be 'trivial'. My kids didn't have 'choices' that these kids are having now today...you know, the "Which outfit do you want to wear today honey, the blue or the green?". Nope, in our house it was "you're going to wear it or else!", LOL! The same way I was raised. Of course, now I have a 19 year old who won't wear a winter coat, because mommy can't 'make' him!


Rob, what are the total inches of snow up there now?

Ohh, probably about 8-10".

Ouch!! That's waaaaay too much at once! We got about 2 inches last night, maybe 3.

Oh, I was thinking you guys had even more than that up there Rob...have you had rain? We had some snow, but it's almost all washed away by the rain now.

Well, they got quite a bit more up along the northwest coast, and even just a little way north of us. No, we didn't get any rain, but it got warmish the other day, so we probably lost a couple inches.

Our high tomorrow is supposed to be -2 degrees. Seriously?????? It was only about 5 degrees today, and it felt brutally cold. We're definitely receiving a frigid coldfront. Brrrrrr................

Yikes. We're at 9 degrees right now---it's so bitter out! That's a heatwave compared to what you're having Teresa!

I'm not going to complain about the cold here after hearing of the temps that you all are having. Rob, Teresa, Amy and

Our thermometer said -3 when we got up yesterday.

We're at -8 right now. Chilly as the bus stop. Luckily my daughter only has to go across the street, and up two houses to the corner.

I have to say that I do not envy you all with your FREEZING temps! If its in the 40's here during the daytime I am freezing! And I do admit my son goes to school, 40's and all, in shorts....though it is not my idea. I tell him everyday he needs to wear pants but he insists on shorts though I do insist on a jacket.
