I had a pen pal from South Dakota, oh years ago, who was related to Laura Ingalls!!! His grandparents were Ingalls (their actual last name!) and they were decedents of the family (I'm not sure how). It was quite neat anyways! So I wrote to Melissa Gilbert, to tell her this, and she signed a pic for my pen pal as a gift!
Plus, my pen pal's cousin's name is Laura Ingalls. Too cute!!

I've been writing online for 10 years with a real Ingalls, 2 of them actually. I've met both already and am planning to visit one of them in 2 weeks. She is going to some different schools and giving presentations to 4th graders.
She was a member at the old forum. I guess I will have to sign her up when I visit her.
