I saw different stages of it, but about the time it was to start being 'blood red', the clouds came over and hid it. The last time I checked on it, there was the smallest sliver, but I was too tired to watch it as it unveiled itself again... No Lots of people in the area took pictures and the news showed where NASA was recording it as it happened......Might try their site and see if it is posted. Thumbsup

Space.com also covered it pretty thoroughly.

With all the clouds and such, I doubt I get to see this tonight, but for those who can.....Look for the "Super Moon/Black Moon" tonight.

"The new moon comes on February 18, 2015, and then reaches perigee less than one-third day later. It’s the closest new moon of the year, which qualifies it as a new moon supermoon. It’s also a seasonal Black Moon; that is, the third of four new moons in the current season (December solstice to March equinox). The moon reaches lunar perigee – the moon’s closest point to Earth for the month – some 7.6 hours after the moon turns new at 23:47 UTC (6:47 p.m. CDT) on February 18. Don’t expect to see anything special, not even a little crescent like that in the photo above. A full moon supermoon is out all night – brighter than your average full moon. But a new moon supermoon is only out during the daytime hours, hidden in the sun’s glare. Follow the links below to learn more about the supermoon/ Black Moon of February 18, 2015."

Thumbsup Just to point out this full moon will not be pink. It is simply the name given to any full moon in June by the Native American Algonquin tribes as a sign that the strawberries are ready to harvest. Don't be expecting a pink full moon and end up disappointed, it will just be regular white/silver. You can check out a list of all full moon names here-------> Full Moon Names

You are most welcome! We actually have some clear skies now; will see how long it sticks! I will probably have NASA's live stream pulled up anyways.....but hope to see it in person! This Super Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse won't happen for another 18 years! ENJOY! grinsmiley

By Mike Mezeul
After spending 5 hours on a rooftop with an incredible view of Dallas, I was able to create this composite image showing the moons transition from full moon, to full lunar eclipse, and back. Each moon image was shot approximately 10 minutes apart to capture the entire transition. I hope you all enjoy! Please share! Prints available, link in image comments! Shot on a Nikon D810.
