Oh, that's sad. I remember his character on Growing Pains. He played Kirk Cameron's best friend.

I was just thinking about him the other day and laughing at his name on the show. He was a good little actor, to bad his career did not take flight. He was really handsome too.

How awful. I was hoping that he would be found alive. I can't imagine what pain must cause someone to take his own life. My prayers go out to his family.

Oh, that's horrible. His poor family. I had no idea he was Chekov's son! I used to love Growing Pains, so I remember the actor well. He actually played that part to a " T ". Like Beckie said, it's too bad his acting career didn't go anywhere.

I can't remember his character's name.

His character was Richard Stabone, and they called him "Boner."

Our local news had a clip of the press conference with his parents. His poor father was trying to hold back the tears. Just an awful thing for any parent to have to deal with.

Remember actor Jonathan Brandis from the early 90's? He was on Sea Quest. He hung himself because his acting career went down the tubes. So sad.

Its really sad when expectations aren't met in the acting business. The thing is that so many of these people don't realize they have multiple talents. There is the actress from The Wonder Years (played Winnie- I forget her real name.) she is a mathematician now. She has organized a study guide to help middle school aged girls excel in Math.
There really needs to be a support group for this group of actors/actresses to help find their real talents. Maybe something could be set up in memory of Andrew.

You are so right, they do need a support group. But sometimes that is all an actor wants to do is act and nothing else. But yeah they need to have a back up and just realize that acting might not be meant to be for them. They girl that played Blossom is some kind of scientist and is really intelligent.

A little side note, Koenig wasn't the first child of a Star Trek actor to kill themselves.

Nichelle Nichols (Commander Uhura)'s son killed himself in the Heaven's Gate cult, who thought there was a space ship behind the Hale-Bop comet years ago.
