Patricia Neal Passed Away

She played Mrs. Sanderson in the two part episode where Mr. Edwards and Grace adopt the children.

Rest in Peace.

Such a great actress. She had endured so much pain and triumph in her life. May she rest in peace.

This is very sad news, well at least to those left behind. Thankfully she no longer feels any pain. May she rest in peace.

Her career goes back so far, I was surprised that she was "only" 84. She was in a lot of great movies - Hud, The Day the Earth Stood Still, A Face in the Crowd, Breakfast at Tiffany's

When you think about it....84 isn't that old....I mean, my dad will turn 81 Wednesday and he is no where near being old and feeble.....

My Mom turned 90 last month, and she thinks she's Eleanor Roosevelt.

My dad was 84 when he passed away last month. 84 is not as old as it used to be with the life span increasing. My mom is also 84 and still very active.

Her two part episodes of Little House certainly put her on my map of great actresses. She did have alot of physical problems but made the best of them and continued to act.
I wonder if they will read the same poem at her real funeral they read during that episode??
She will be remembered always.

I was thinking just the same, Gin. It should be very nice to read this beatiful poem in her real funeral.

She was a great actress, and I love how she smiled. She was casted perfectly as three children Sanderson.

I actually had no idea that she was still alive....that made it a more surprising shock. Her brother, Petrey (Pete) was one of my Mom's high school teachers. We found taht out yesterday. That was very amazing! We are sending him a sympathy card.

Thank you.....I decided to put my picture up there for once but it isn't my favorite but is the most recent with my hair cut. The shirt I am wearing is special to me because my Grandmother had the same shirt. Except mine was a P-6 and hers was a P-0/2! She was VERY small! I miss her.....she used to talk about Patricia Neal often and we find ourselves wanting to tell her about it.

Maybe it's because I knew she'd had a stroke more than 40 years go... plus she had that deep voice that always made her seem older than she really was. So I was quite surprised that she was still with us, and that she was *only* in her early 80s.

That is so true. The unfortunate thing is that cancer and other diseases seem to be more prevelant than ever.
This has to be such a difficult time for you Pat. I am so sorry for your loss.

Same here....she seemed to be so much older in that episode. It is pretty miraculous that she was able to live on for so many years after so many strokes as well.

Yes: cancer seems more powerful than other kind of diseases nowadays. Maybe is the kind of life we are living, maybe is the way in which the food we eats is processed or made, I mean, "too industrialized, maybe is the air we are breathing...Who knows? The odd thing, is that doctors cannot yet find what is the factor who produces cancer...

Julia: your hairdo is beatiful, and I like very much your shirt with so many colors in it. Lovely!
