A couple of serious fires started in my county yesterday. One is still burning. Here's a TV report...

People better be careful burning stuff. It seems too soon in the season to hear of fires. Hope everything is okay Rob.

Thanks, Gin. Every time Savannah's driving through the area, I beg her not to throw her cigars out the window.

The bigger of the two fires - the one that's burned 7500 acres so far - was started by a guy burning leaves in his yard. He had a burning permit, but the wind kicked up and the fire got away from him. I can't imagine how he feels today.

How terrible! Yeah, I can't imagine how he must feel. He played by the rules and got the permit to do so, and than this.

Fire is Fire....it has a mind all its own sometimes. I worked in a Nursing home back in 1990 and we had a fire late one night. (I worked the 3-11 shift) Its SO scary.
We got 70% of the residents out through the windows. Lost 3 that night with 9 more passing away within 2 weeks after. It was something that rocked our whole community.

I think it's pretty much under control now, Gin. The total burned was about 8800 acres.
