My Dad

I have a prayer request for my Dad.

He has been out of work for almost a year now. He had worked at a fiberglass plant for 14 years and he decided to leave so someone else could keep their job.

He is applying for a job that is like an animal ranger or something of that sort where you help free animals and people can call you if they find a snake or whatever. From what I have heard him say, it pays well...I think. He is also waiting for a call from a KIA plant.

I don't mean to write this sounding mean or anything, but it is really get hard to be around him 24/7. I feel like I need a break from guys.....even the guy I like almost turns me off... ....not too much of a turnoff My Dad and I have always had a strained relationship. We butt heads a lot. His parents were really not good and I know that is where he gets it. He just is really frustrated. We are SO SO SO TIRED of hard times. I am 15 now and that is all I have ever seemed to know.

But please pray that he gets a job. We had to take a lot of money out of the retirement funds to live off of. Now my Grandmother has passed away and she has a HUGE house...over 5,000 sq. feet, so I know when we sell that it will help...but we'd rather have her.

Oh Julia, I am so sorry for your struggles. I can understand the frustration, and the fear....try not to worry too much over everything. My son is 15 too, and we are having our own financial struggles right now (my hubby lost his higher paying job last year....he's making half that pay now), and I'm always trying to remind my son to let us worry about this stuff. It's hard enough being 15!! Keep your chin up Julia....you seem like a neat person. Try to focus on staying positive, and trying your best at 'picking your battles' with your dad. I know it's tough sometimes, but I am sure with all the financial stress, it's just a tough time for him. I'm sorry you get some of that taken out on you. Blue

Thank you all for your prayers! I know the Bible says that to worry is a sin, sometimes it can be hard though. I am just so tired of this. My Dad and me have always seemed to butt head all my life actaully. He is so shy and at times awkward. It has to do with his upbringing....ugh. I find myself falling for guys. (I have never had a boyfriend though.) Maybe I am just trying to find that "Knight In Shining Armour" figure. I am happy though that the guy I am liking now is a Christian and is dedicated to God and not a bad boy like the last one. Why I went into all this I do not know. Maybe I need to let it off my chest. I just feel so much pressure from so many things.

I'll be praying for you, Julia. Being 15 is hard enough as it is, without adding any more stresses on top of it. As Amy said, try not to worry too much about it. I know from experience that it's a lot easier said than done, but worry doesn't accomplish anything good in our lives. It only steals our joy - if we let it. When those worries start to eat at you, take them to the Lord in prayer...and I love what Amy said about focusing on the positive. It makes a huge difference in life in general if we try to see the positive, not only in our situations, but also in those around us.

I'll be praying for your Dad, too - both for a job, and for him to be able to handle the stress that he's under.
