Best Place to Live Empty
PostSubject: Best Place to Live   Best Place to Live EmptyMon Jul 12, 2010 6:55 pm

As much as I love California, I am not close minded and view it as the best state in the US LOL. I filled out a questionnaire recently asking about what I like as far as climate, activities, education, cost of living, etc, etc... and I got several results and most of them were from places in Oregon.

I had never given Oregon much thought but I have some friends that live up there and they absolutely love it.

Oregon is very green and it is the state just north of California. Honestly, I wouldn't mind moving there, in fact, the more I read about it, the more I can see myself there. Who knows... maybe one day in the future I might move there... greenS

The best match was a place claled Willamette Valley. Here is what it says about this region:

The Willamette Valley is the heart of Oregon’s agriculture country. During spring and summer growing seasons, roadside stands dot the country lanes, and farmers’ markets appear in the valley’s historic towns. Covered bridges beckon drivers to explore the many back roads, and the valley’s flat terrain and temperate climate make it a favorite for hikers and cyclists, who also enjoy the paved paths in the college towns of Eugene and Corvallis. Nestled among its rolling hills are over 200 wineries producing a medley of vintages—Pinot noir, Pinot gris and Riesling to mention a few. The valley, dubbed Oregon’s Wine Country, is one of Oregon’s major wine-growing regions.

Better place to live? I don't know. I think every person has his/her own taste in this...There's people who likes mountains and snow, other peoples beaches , other people little valleys and even great big cities...

People likes different things and landscapes, so there isn't any "everybody's perfect place to live in".

My favorite place is an historical, lovely city in wich you may go to a beatiful cozy caffeteria and discuss politics and art for hours or a mountain, snowy landscape. I like Madrid or Paris, and also bariloche or Calamuchita valley in Argentina. But I also like Bavarian, North Italy landscapes and Lonodon...Oh..and of course, Walnut Grove! batEyes

Vanesa.

Me too....those pics are gorgeous Carol! Applause I can see why you'd love to live there one day. yes

You're right Vanesa, everyone has their different view of the perfect place to live....like, I could never live somewhere that didn't give me snow the month of December. Snow and Christmas just go together for me. Love And I love to have the Great Lakes surrounding me. But yeah, I can think of a lot of beautiful places out of my country to live as well. There's a show here on HGTV called "House Hunters International". I love that show....they show you how much American money it would be to buy a home in other countries. Like, the last one I saw, this guy was inspired by the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun", and bought a house in Italy for 20,000 American dollars. Of course, it was in ruins, so he had to remodel the whole thing and I'm sure it cost him a fortune in the long run! But my goodness, those views! Love
