*sigh* For the next three days, my area of town is under a "boil water" advisory after coliform bacteria was found in samples of our drinking water. Makes me wish I had well water!

I know....I'm wondering how long the bacteria has been in the water undetected. I thought I was heat-sick today, but maybe I'm a little under the weather from the water.

Oops....Sorry, Rob...I didn't see your question. This is the first time I can remember having to boil the water before drinking it.

Well, just remember to let it cool before you drink it.

Unless you are making tea. Then it works out pretty well.
Any tea drinkers here? I love Lapsang Soushong. Its a dark woody smoky flavored tea. Dee-lish-ous!!

Never tried Lapsang Soushong, Joe. I like Earl Grey and Darjeeling.

Those are two of my favorites, too. I like some of the herbal teas, too. Echinacea tea is delicious, and I like to make a blend of several kinds of mint that grow around my yard, too, with a little bit of lemon balm mixed in.

The city was offering free bottled water to anyone in the boil water zone, so I went down and picked some up. I'd rather not take a chance on the tap water not being boiled quite long enough to kill the bacteria.

I do the same thing, Savannah, on the rare occasion we've had to boil water. I don't want to take a chance with the tap water either under those circumstances and go with the bottled.

It sounds therapetic. And you can't Gomer me for that... you know why.

I haven't had any tea for quite a while, but this thread is making me want some.

batEyes To quote a wise man I know, "I'll be the judge of that."

Yes, it's quite a therapetic tea.

It once happened in Argentina some 15 years ago. But happily nothing too dramatic occured and there were not any fatal victims to complain. Don't worry... Smile

Thanks, Vanesa! I'm happy to hear that nothing dramatic happened in your instance. I could use a little less drama in my life. I used to lead such a boring life....

We're hearing reports that the water may have been contaminated for up to a month. No official word yet, though.

That's very reassuring. Yikes

I think the last time we had to boil water was during that huge power outage in the north eastern part of the country. However many years ago that was.
