I love that!

There used to be a sign here in town that said LEFT TURN ONLEY.

I shouldn't admit this but the first time I saw the picture, I didn't see what the deal was. DUH!!

It reminds me of when some bad people messed up some road signs. Speed limit became "pee limit" becaus they spray painted off the "S" and the "P". No Pass Zone became.....well, you can figure that one out. Yikes It was not funny.....well, ok, maybe the "Pee Limit" was.... HeeHee

Here's yet another school related typo. I think they need the kids to do the spell-check.

OH my! Yes, that would send Fife in circles! That is a good one. Such BOLD letters!

For whatever reason the story about that sign made it on our local news today, even though the picture was from Southbend, IN. At least it wasn't a doom and gloom story and it was something funny. I thought Fife would get a kick out of it.

I just wonder if people are that incompetent or they see the finished result but are too lazy to fix it?

Those are just amazing. laugh3 How do people miss mistakes like that? Especially when they are written so big!!

I wish I could remember what was on the sign of this store when I was a kid. Actually, I was in the 7th grade. I would take a bus to school everyday. The driver went into this one neighborhood where there was this small corner store. And there was a word on there that used to drive me crazy - especially because it was painted ON the building - that was misspelled. I haven't thought about this in years. Now I just may have to drive past there and see if the store is still there to see if the word is still on the building. I really want to remember what it was now. And you know it had to be bad if it drove a 13 year-old crazy! greenS

At one time I worked with a woman (my boss) who misspelled almost everything. She would write these notes to us about things we maybe needed to do over the weekend. And the word she misspelled the most was "onesie" - the baby clothing. She would spell it O-N-S-I-E. It was an "ONsie". I never could figure out how she didn't know that was wrong. Smile Sure, it really isn't a word (at least not according to Webster's), but you would think she would at least try to spell it the way it sounds. She did that so much of the time with words.

I guess this problem is too widespread. Fife does what he can, but he can't be everywhere. No I think we need Fife-inator training so people all over the wolrd won't have to be driven crazy with these horrid misspellings right there in their face everyday. cryB Laughing

I will convince myself that Pam's post was deliberate; she was going along with the theme of the thread! HeeHee
