Please Pray For My Mom

Dear Prairie Pals,

Please be in prayer for my Mother. For the past few months some of her teeth have been hurting. Today she finally broke down and went to a dentist because her right cheek was swollen so terribly. It literally looked as if she had a golf ball in the side of her mouth. She could hardly eat anymore. Was losing so much sleep. It really saddened me to see her this way. She doesn't like dentists much. She has had such terrible experiances including a guy that while working, he smoked in her face. He was giving her a root canal and didn't numb her AT ALL. He called her a cry baby.........so, we found out what was wrong.

She has a cavity (sp.?) that has gotten so bad that it started to eat away at her tooth and there is hardly any tooth left so it started eating on her nerves....that is what has caused the pain. She had all this infection in her. Some stories where people dealt with this and waited too long caused them to have to have jaw surgery. All the swolleness can even close up the throat. It can ever go to the brain or the heart and if I am not mistaken can be life threatning.

The doctor who examined her was very nice. There will be two teeth to be worked on and this worst one will have to be a root canal.........the total amt. for 2 teeth was $3,000 something but the guy was kind and knocked off $500 worth. My Dad's job benefits are awful and we don't have insurance right now. They gave her antibiotics and some pain medication and the swelling has gone down some which is good.

Just plese be in prayer concerning all this and when this work is done it will go wonderfully smooth and not a glitch in it. Also, pray that God will give her immense peace and that peace will flood her. Also.....for her to sleep well from now on!

I am very glad your mom worked up the courage to go. I'm sure she will find things very different from the last time she had work done. I will keep her in my prayers.

I'll keep praying for her, Julia. Hope she'll be all right. I know there are some cases that turns really bad, but those are very rare (and when I said very, I really mean VERY RARE Smile

). Don't worry; your mother will not turn that bad as the cases you've read about. Smiley Hug

Toothaches like that are horrible to deal with. I'll definitely keep her in my prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers! They really do matter! You hear so many awful dentist stories. I was blessed to have my first trip to the dentist to be a wonderful and pleasent one.
