My given name is Jacob but some people call me Jake

For some reason my parents thought Cheryl Cecelia was a good name. I don't think there are any other Cheryls in the family, but Cecelia was my maternal grandmother's name. I took Rebecca as my confirmation name when I was 16. I like that one much better.

Actually, mine has an interesting background. It's Larry Edwin Jr., which is rather normal, but the interesting part is how Pop and I got our middle name.

Gramma grew up in poor times, and money was scarce. She couldn't afford to buy a copy of Pop's birth certificate, and she felt so bad she cried a lot, so her nurse felt sorry for her, and said if she'd (Gramma) give her baby her hubby's name, she'd buy her a copy.

Her husband's name was Edwin.

Thus, Larry Edwin.

Larry interesting and it sounds good together.
Debra seems to have been popular as with Pamela.
Cheryl, I've always liked it and it seems to fit with most last names.

I wish I could have a second name just to choice between the two.

My mother gave me the name "Vanesa" for she had watch "Mary Stuart" movie , with Vanessa Redgrave in it, and wanted to name me after her. However, in my country was forbidden to name a child with a freign name and she must take away an "s" to give the name a Spanish form. So, I'm "Vanesa" and not "Vanesa". scratchead

My name is Patrick. My last name starts with "L" so I am Patrick L,just like Patrick Laborteaux(sp?),our own Andy Garvey. I have a nephew named Matthew L,so his is like Matthew Laborteaux (Albert Ingalls).

Amy Jean. Sometimes I really wish I had a nice long name that could be shortened. Like Rebecca or Alexandra or something like that. But nope, just plain old Amy. My hubby calls me Mimi or A.J. though. grinsmiley

Mom was watching a movie with Rhonda Fleming in it while pregnant with my brother, two years older than me.....she liked the name, but when it was a boy, and not a girl, she just held onto that name until her girl came along.......

My name Silvia Carolina (pronounced Caroleena) doesn't sound good in english lol The combination sounds better in Spanish. I use both names, Silvia mainly for business/work and Carol for the rest. Hardly anybody calls me Carolina, only Carol, or Caro for short in Spanish.
