PostSubject: Kamryn and Summer   Mon Nov 29, 2010 1:04 pm

I have a friend at church whose niece is undergoing cancer surgery today.

Her name is Kamryn and she is three years old. Her mom just a week ago found a small knot on her tummy and took her to her pediatrician. He quickly got her in at M. D. Anderson in Houston. They confirmed stage 1 abdominal cancer.
The plan is Kamryn will undergo 6 months of chemo. Please keep she, her family and doctors in your prayers today. Thanks!

Kami is out of recovery now. Her mom got to see her and said she asked for her blankie. There will be about 4 to 5 days to find more out from pathology. Lets pray hard for no surprises.

Kami's tumor was the size of a grapefruit! Before surgery they were told that it was only 3 inches. They have put in a chemo port and things look good. She is resting.

Poor little baby! I'll pray for her...What a sad thing that a three years old could get this awful illness...What could it be? People said that stress causes cancer...But what kind of stress could have a three years old little girl? banghead banghead Blue

I really don't know Vanesa. If we knew that no one would get it I guess. Kamryn is in the best place to be treated though. Her doctors acted quick, and I think except for the size of the tumor things are pretty much as they expected.
Not sure yet when she will go home.

That's what my Mom and I were talking about early this morning, too, Teresa. Three-year-olds are so little - a tumor that size is absolutely enormous for someone so small. No

I hope the tumor would not be methastasyc...This is the only and more important issue about cancer. I know she is in good hands . It's only that "cancer" is a so awful word... No

Kamryn is up and walking...slowly. She even got to ride in a little red wagon to the play room today. She wasn't up for much play but wanted to go check it out. Thumbsup

Little Kami is a trooper. She was able to have food this morning. Her Great-grandma fed her breakfast while she watched a Mickey Mouse dvd!

I will try to get her aunt to email me a photo. She is so cute in that wagon.

Kamyn's tests results are back. She has Wilm's Tumor, also known as nephroblastoma. This is stage 3, which means the cancer is in her blood vessels as well as her lymph nodes. She had one kidney removed during her surgery and had her first chemo treatment on Thursday.

Lets pray she handles the chemo well. Thanks to all for your prayers.
