Kamyn's tests results are back. She has Wilm's Tumor, also known as nephroblastoma. This is stage 3, which means the cancer is in her blood vessels as well as her lymph nodes. She had one kidney removed during her surgery and had her first chemo treatment on Thursday.

Lets pray she handles the chemo well. Thanks to all for your prayers.

What a sad think to learn, Gin. But Kamryn will beat this awful beast. Today, at church, she was in my prayers.

Vanesa.

Living with cancer myself this is not good news for our Little Kamryn. I pray she finds the strength to get her through her chemo treatments. Kids are so resilient and can bounce back quickly because they have so much bottled up energy. Let's hope our little dear can find that inner strength. My love and prayers are go out to her family.

Thanks Lorrie. I know her family were so surprised it was so bad. BUT, she is amoung some great doctors and I truly believe that the power of prayer can move mountians, people and tumors.

This family has already been through alot. Last November Kamryns grandpa answered the door to a man that pushed his way into their home. When told to leave he refused, so Grandpa got a rifle to threaten him. The guy got the rifle away from him and beat him almost to death with the butt of it. The grandmother came home just as the guy was walking out the door. He didn't do a thing to her, only left.
Grandpa had several surgeries to correct his jaw and set broken limbs. He seems to be doing well now, but its already been a long year for this family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Kamryn's results. I pray she will find strength to beat this....she and her family will be in my prayers.

I think this year was awful for almost everyone... No Poor Kamryn's family. Hope that the little one could be healed by doctors and prayer's power in no time. We certainly are sad when elder people has to fight illness or difficulties, but we almost can't bear it when it's a child who must to suffer... Blue

Vanesa.

I saw Kamryn last night. She was at church with her Aunt Connie. SHe looks a bit pale, but otherwise great. She is having to take radiation everyday this week and chemo every Friday. So far her hair has not fallen out.
She was excited to show her Aunt the handwork she had made in Bible class. I think all things considered she is doing well.

Thanks for having us updated, Gin. At least, the girl has energy to battle this and this keeps me very optimist about her future.

Hi everyone. I managed to catch Kamyrn's aunt at church for an update. She said Kamryn is still doing great. She has now lost her hair, but her treatments have not at all made her sick. She in fact, was out with her mom shopping for a wig, and of course LOVED the Hannah Montana look!

Kamryn in back in the hospital as of Saturday. She had a blood transfusion on Friday and has developed a fever now. Please continue prayers for her.

Also, I edited this to read Kamryn and Summer..... Summer is another 3 yr old at church that just last week was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease. This is a disease that causes an inflammation of blood vessels and affects the heart. This family also have another baby girl that is about 6 months old. Please remember Summer as well. I will keep you updated as I find out more on both girls. ~ Thanks, Gin

My cousin had Kawasaki disease when he was a little boy. From what our family was told, it isn't contagious. Oddly, the doctors said that it could have been caused by the carpet having been steam-cleaned while Howard (my cousin) was in the house. (It has something to do with spores in the carpets.) Anyway....it took him a while to recover, but he's a healthy, strong 36-year-old man now.
I pray that Summer has as positive a result, and grows to be a strong, healthy young woman.

Prayers continue for Kamryn, too.

Poor Kamryn! I'll pray for her, and also for Summer. I've never heard before about Kawasaki disease...as I've said in a previous thread, this year began plenty of really bad news.

I haven't heard anymore on Kamryn, but Summer is home now.
She didn't have all the symptoms that most kids have. Continued to stay happy, just feverish. They are watching her, so continue to pray this is managable.
I will try to find out soon if Kamryn is home or not.

It was announced Sunday at church that Summer is doing great. Doctors are watching her, but she doesn't seem to have a bad case of this disease. The family has told me to tell you all thank-you for your prayers.

No news on Kamryn right now. I'm thinking that is probably good. Keep those prayers going for her.

Thank you for keeping us updated, Gin! It's so good to hear that Summer is doing so well! And I think that you're right about Kamryn. In this instance, "No news is good news" sounds about right - if things were worsening, they'd most likely be asking for more prayers.

I'm happy that Summer is doing so well. Thanks for the update! As for Kamryn, I suppose she must be improving too. As Savannah wrote: "No news, good news". Keep praying, tough.

Keep Kamryn in prayer this next week she will be having tests to see how she is doing. I saw her at church this week and she looks thin and pale, but keeps up with the other kids well. I'll let you know more as I hear...thanks.
