| Don't remember which episode this was, but was anyone else proud of Elmer for standing up to his ma and telling her not to encourage his younger brother to overeat and end up fat like him? I'm glad his pa was supportive of him in this instance.
I really hope Michelle Obama is able to help put an end to childhood obesity.

| Yes, I am glad Elmer helped him brother. He had seen how bad kids treated him and didnt want to see that happen to his brother.
I always thought that maybe they stuffed him up a bit to make him look bigger than he really was. Not sure though.
We do need help in our Nation with childhood obesity. I know in my area there needs to be more programs like the Y that reduces costs for kids to sign up for soccor etc. Sometimes the costs are just what holds parents back from getting their child involved. With the cut of teachers in our area too, I just hope they don't cut our PE teachers. This is too important in the fight of obesity. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart

| It's not just kids, it's a lot of adults too. My daughters like to eat at Golden Corral (yuck). Whenever you go in there half the patrons must be over 300 pounds. Punishing the restaurants like they did in California (forcing them not to offer toys with their high calorie kid's meals) is putting the blame in the wrong place. As individuals we need to make the right choices about diet and exercise. Yes, there are some with medical problems out there that cause weight gain, but for the rest of us, we need to do what it takes to stay in shape. I'm finding it harder to control my weight now that I'm older. I'm not overweight, but I'm totally out of shape, and need to fit exercise into my schedule. I'm responsible for that, not the fast-food restaurant I visit where I buy a hamburg and fries that I wash down with a Coke. | |

| I think the Elmer episode was "For the Love of Nancy". Elmer had a crush on Nancy, and of course it didn't take Nancy long to figure out how to use that for her benefit (and Elmer's expense). | |

Yes. It was "For the Love of Nancy". I was happy when at the end, Elmer realizes that Nancy is using him for her benefit and doesn't pay attention to her any more. Vanesa.
