PostSubject: My New Lamp   Sun May 08, 2011 11:36 pm

Took me forever to find a lamp for my bed table that suited my room as well as my taste. We spent all of Friday going to shops everywhere and came up empty handed. Then, we went to Hobby Lobby and they had sooooo mannnnny that I loved! But since my room is a certain style, (vintage 1940's-1950's) I had to pick one just right...I ended up picking 2.......I will use the other one for something else but here is the one for my bedtable! grinsmiley

It's lovely, Julia! It really looks as a oerfect "retro" lamp. You did the perfect choice. Thumbsup

I like the lamp, Julia. I wanted to post a picture for you of Kara's dress she got for prom. She found a dress from the 50's on ebay. Unfortunately someone stole her camera at prom, so I'm not sure if I can. She might have have uploaded picture when it first came, but I was hoping to have post one with her at prom.

Lori, Kara posted some pictures of it on her Facebook page when it first came - and one of her friends tagged her in some prom photos, so there are a couple of prom photos you can post. She looked gorgeous, Lori! And I loved her dress. I'm really sorry to hear that someone stole her camera. As a picture-taking-fiend, I can totally relate to how heartbreaking that would be!

Darling lamp, Julia!!

I'm not sure if I can post those from Facebook. I'll have to ask Kara. I'm not good at this kind of thing. What am I going to do when she goes to college? bawling

Is she graduating this year??? Wow, time flies! Is she going to college fairly close to home, or far away? Our son is about an hour away. It gets easier each year, but goodness, I LOVE having him home! He's home for summer break now.

That lamp is really pretty Julia! Thumbsup

Here's her 50's dress, Julia. She tried it on as soon as she got home from school, so the socks don't quite go with it. She wanted to wear a crinoline under it to poof it out, but she never found one.

Savannah, thank you for the pictures you sent. Kara did have these on the laptop so I was able to figure out how to post them. I'll have to try to post the facebook ones.

Amy, yes, she is graduating this year. She will be going to college in Ohio so she will be a ways away.

That second pic looks like Wynona Ryder (sp) to me. Don't really know Kiera Knightly, but then, I'm old. lol

Really great pics though. I've got some of my daughter to post, but she downloaded 'em on her pc then erased the camera memory, so I've either gotta figure out how this networking thing works or buy a flash drive. I'd SWEAR she does that just to mess with me. mad

You're welcome to come over and play it. Kara would love to play duets with you, Savannah.

LOL Larry! We're the same age! She does have a Winona look to her. Keira Knightly is from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
