PostSubject: Ireland photos!   Tue May 17, 2011 3:55 pm

these are a few of the photos that I took in Ireland while on my school trip to Europe in February. We were in Ireland from February 20-24, and it was my favorite country out of the 4 that we visited. I'm not sure if anyone else on the prairie has been here, but it is just so pretty! Seasons are different over there, so it was already spring, and everything was just beginning to turn green. In Ireland, we toured the ring of Kerry, stopped at the Blarney Castle, and spent two days in Dublin.

this is the first sign that we saw when we landed at the airport in Shannon, Ireland. We arrived in Ireland almost a day late because of flight problems, so it was sort of a welcoming sight!

this is (from left to right) my friends Clara, Ari, Allie, and myself on our first stop on our tour of the Ring of Kerry

This is me and the statue of Charlie Chaplin in Waterville, Ireland, where Chaplin used to vacation. that's the Atlantic Ocean in the background

this is the Blarney Castle, home of the Blarney stone, and me at the top of the castle

this is the altar of St. Patrick's Cathedral, in Dublin. We saw many Cathedrals on this trip, and St. Patrick's was by far the most beautiful!

this is Clara, Allie, and I with Mr. Regan, the teacher who was the group leader and organizer of our trip. We're standing on the top deck of the ferry that took us from Dublin to Holyhead, Wales

this is the sun rising behind the lighthouse at Dublin Port, I took this photo as our ferry was leaving the port

thank you! I was hoping that if someone hadn't had the opportunity to visit Ireland, then the pictures might give them a taste of what it is like, and how pretty it was

no, I did not get to kiss the Blarney Stone...I made it to the top of the castle and literally was about to, but then I chickened out...leaning that far back with only a grate below me just was not my cup of tea!

Hey Kristina, sorry I'm only catching up with the pics of your trip now! I love your photos and am glad you had a great trip to our beautiful country. The Ring of Kerry is spectacular in the summer. Not too sure about February though! You really should have kissed the Blarney stone! It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And I agree with you on St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. It's fabulous. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
