Friday night is here again! And that means that we get to learn a little bit more about one of our forum members! Tonight that will be J.v.Hunen - Jan! Jan is one of our newest members, and has shared with us some of his amazing creations. If you didn't get a chance to watch the video featuring some of his work, it's definitely worth watching. (And, a brief commercial here...If you haven't had the time to fill out your Getting to Know You questions, please don't forget! I'd love for each person to be able to be in the spotlight for a week! Okay, end of commercial. ) Now for the Spotlight!

Getting to Know J.v.Hunen!







How did you get interested in LHOTP? In the 70s years we look whit the hole fam. dad, mom, 1 sister and 7 brothers al to the tv series of lhop. 5 years a go the broadcast sbs 6 in the Netherlands send the hole series out and is now every day to see. And we have buy the hole dvd collection.

Which came first for you: the books or the TV series? The TV series

If you’ve read any of the books, which one do you like best? We have no books of Laura.

How often do you watch the TV series? So much we can (every day)

Have you watched other productions of LH? If so, did you like them? Yes you learn more from the Ingalls fam.

Did you get to see the LHOTP musical with Melissa Gilbert? No is to far way to travelling from europe.

Do you have a favorite character? Yes Charles I.

Do you believe that the moral lessons that Little House taught helped to make you a better person? Yes as you have nothing is live beautiful to.

Is there an episode that stands out in your mind as a favorite? Gold country

Do any of the episodes move you to tears? If so, why? Ill be waving as you drive away. The nature.

Where were you born?Arnhem (from the battle a bridge to far) ,Netherland (Holland)-Europe


Have you ever been married? / Are you married? Yes.

Do you have children? No.

Do any others in your family share your affection for Little House on the Prairie and Laura Ingalls Wilder’s work?
The whole fam looks sister brother mom aunts
uncles neffews and more.


Do you own anything Little House related? My granddad and ma were farmers, and there olders.

Have you met any of the board members? No.

How long have you been a member on the LH board? The German board 4 years, but that is stopped. This board a few days. (And I hope many years, too!)

What are some things that you enjoy doing to relax?
scale modelling (Whole Walnut Grove ,Sleepy Eye
,Winoka, mount whit mine and the cabin of gold country and more/ fishing





What season do you like best? Spring, summer, autumn or winter? Spring and summertime.

What season were you born in? Winter time.

What is your favorite holiday? Spain.

What are some of your best memories? Together with the whole family. Many died.

What is one of the things you like best about our LH board?
searching lhop on internet (google)

What did you want to be when you were growing up, and did that pan out? Playing in woods.

What was your first pet? First pet was a dog.



Further notes from Jan:


In the 70s we follow home the series of lhop with the whole
fam. Father,mother sister and 6 brothers and we like lhop .
My dad was a great fan of Michael Landon (he saw every Bonanza series and
little Joe was the man).
A few years ago the lhop where send out bij a Dutch broadcast in the Netherlands
and my wife and i follow the series.
It was nice to see back and i say to my wife it's nice to made that little house
in modelling.






We has soft wood and I beginning to start the building it was ready and my
wife found it beautiful.
But we has more wood and i made the mill ,mercantile and so came hole Walnut
Grove.
It was ready but we build trees animals and so on.every building is made of
real soft wood only the figures and trees are plastic
Every that it saw found it nice.
The tv came and take a record ,the newspaper follows and a year later the
radio take a story.







every that it has seen where impressed .
We were member of the German site of lhop on the board was a nice time every
would more pictures see and was impressed but the site and board stopped last
year .


We hope that we so nice time in this board find .

For lhop has i made other buildings ,cars and more .

Jan, Its great to know you better! I love your work. I made a Little House in 1990 too. You could take the roof off and look down into it. I no longer have it, but have always wanted to make another one. Maybe when the kids are grown I will be able to.

Nice interview! I was impressed when I saw your scale models of LHOTP posted here...but it seems that in the Netherlands, they were impressed too, since you were in the newspapers showing them! Thumbsup

I think that LHOTP had a lot of fans in Europe. In France they loves the show. It reruns almost all the summers. I don't know if in the Netherlands is that way too, but I see that people remembers LHOTP pretty well. Smile
