| I'm entering some photos in a photography contest and I'm having a difficult time choosing between these two photos for the one category. So... I'll take some input.
We are looking for really interesting, unique, and beautiful pictures of flowers, isolated detail images or very close, (macro), images in this category. They can be shot outdoors, photographed in the studio, utilizing macro lenses and modes, and at any angle of view.
Both wide expanses of flowers or getting in close are both good candidates for this category. Photographs including small details that suggest a larger story can create wonderful images for this category. (Photo has been removed.)

| Those are both amazing pictures. But I think I'd pick the hummer, too, for the same reason Rhonda said. Beautiful work! |

| Thank you for your votes! I ended up going with the butterfly photo. It was very difficult to choose, but I ended up going with the butterfly because the heading for the category was "Flowers, close-up and detail". I liked the hummer photo in the fact that it had more flowers and does seem to fit more what they are looking for... but I ended up choosing the butterfly because of the close-up details. I entered these two photos in the Nature and Landscape category. I won't hear the results of this contest until September. |

| Beatiful! But I voted the hummingbird. Humingbirds had been always my favorites! Vanesa. |

| I wish I had a butterfly here that didn't look singed from fires or heat. I would love to do outdoor photography but I've just not found beauty in Texas so far. Thanks for letting me know its still there! Awesome work! |

| Thanks :)
I think there's beauty just about everywhere... sometimes it takes a different perspective.
I do understand what you mean, though. Sometimes I feel where I live isn't all that beautiful, but then I hear a visitor talking about how pretty it is here and I think, "Yes, I suppose after one becomes accustomed to a place it no longer holds its charm." |
