Maybe he'd better go back to driving his mini from the roof.
Actor, comedian Rowan Atkinson behind the wheel of his McLaren F1 supercar, November 1998, after attending the 50th birthday party of Prince of Wales / AP Source: APBRITISH film and TV comic Rowan Atkinson was in hospital today after spectacularly crashing his McLaren F1 supercar on a road in east England.
The 56-year-old lost control of the £650,000 ($1.05 million) vehicle, which has a top speed of 368km/h, before smashing into a tree and then a lampost, the Daily Mirror reported.
The car then burst into flames, with Atkinson managing to pull himself free from the wreckage.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident near the village of Haddon, Cambridgeshire at 7.30pm, the Evening Star reported.
Firefighters put the blaze out and Mr Atkinson was taken to Peterborough District Hospital suffering from a shoulder injury, the Mirror said.
One onlooker said: "Rowan is lucky to be alive considering the state of the car."
No other car was reportedly involved.
It is the second time Atkinson - well known for his Mr Bean and Blackadder characters - crashed the supercar. The front of the car was wrecked in the previous collision with the rear of a Rover Metro in Lancashire, in October 1999.
Perhaps he should stick to driving his Mr Bean alter ego's zippy Mini.
