PostSubject: Prayers for a friend.   Tue Sep 20, 2011 12:34 am

Hi, People:

One of my best friends discovered that his husband was suffering from Alzheimer and she is desperate. He is only 60 years old, but he has a kind of Alzheimer who doesn't attacks the memory so awfully much, but the behavior. He began to act like a teen, saying he needed his own "intimity" and asking for more "rooms" for himself. He ended to let my fiend alone and went to live elsewhere...Their children are desperate. They are both adults and cannot understand why their father is acting in such a stupid way. My friend says it could be Alzheimer (he knows he has it) but also that he was hiding he didn't like her any more...I don't think it's this way, but she is very saddened. And now, her daughter said their father didn't love her anymore and does all this AGAINST her... No

His friends refuses to believe he is sick, since they saws him acting "normally" well dressed and all, and thinks that it's his wife who caused all the trouble for she "doesn't understand him". My friend is plenty of anguish since she is very religious and sincere and she always believed she had a nice matrimony. She loves him fiercely and believed it was the other way... No

Please: pray for Estela , Eduardo and their children. They are needing it.

Vanesa.

Thanks! She needs it a lot. Today she wrote me she was desperate and the only thing she does all day long is to cry... Blue

Has he actually been diagnosed with Alzheimers, Vanesa? It almost sounds like it might be a different kind of mental illness to me. If he hasn't gone through ALL the testing, suggest to your friend that he do so. My grandmother had it, and my mom does now. If it's actually Alzheimers, there are medications that your friend's father can get on to help alleviate the situation. I'll be praying that the family gets him the help he obviously needs.

My friends now believed he was badly diagnosed. It is actually a diffferent illness. I think it's named "frontal dementia" or smething like that. She'll ask for more proofs on her husband.

I was also amazed that Eduardo could suffer from Alzheimer... scratchead
