In the Spotlight this week is Debbie! Debbie is one of our long-time members. If you haven't "met" her yet, now's your chance!

Getting to Know Debbie!

How did you get interested in LHOTP? I grew up watching the re runs.

Which came first for you: the books or the TV series? TV Series

If you’ve read any of the books, which one do you like best? These Happy Golden Years

How often do you watch the TV series? I probably catch it a few times a week on the Hallmark Channel

Have you watched other productions of LH? If so, did you like them? I have. I liked them well enough but I prefer the original.

Did you get to see the LHOTP musical with Melissa Gilbert? No

Do you have a favorite character? Laura

Do you believe that the moral lessons that Little House taught helped to make you a better person? Hmm, probably..

Is there an episode that stands out in your mind as a favorite? Sweet Sixteen

Do any of the episodes move you to tears? If so, why? Castoffs, ( I think that's the title) when Jack died.

Who do you most relate to? Probably Laura

Where were you born? Pennsylvania, about 20 miles from where I currently live.

How many states/places have you lived in? Hmm, my parents moved around a lot as I was growing up, but I've always lived in PA.

How many people are in your family? Lots of aunts uncles and cousins, etc..

Have you ever been married? / Are you married? I am married to my high school sweetheart.

Do you have children? Not yet, but my 2 cats are like my children.

Do any others in your family share your affection for Little House on the Prairie and Laura Ingalls Wilder’s work? Not that I know of.

Have you met any of the cast members? No

Do you own anything Little House related? Yes, all of the books, DVD seasons and the Disney Version DVD.

Have you met any of the board members? No

How long have you been a member on the LH board? A long time. I was on the old board for quite awhile and have been here since the beginning.

What are some things that you enjoy doing to relax? Reading, television etc

What season do you like best? Spring, summer, autumn or winter? I would have to say Spring. Summer is just getting too hot for me in my old age.

What season were you born in? Summer

What is your favorite holiday? Christmas

What has been your biggest challenge? Hmm...

What are some of your best memories? Spending time w/ my grandma. I still miss her so much..

How did you find this board? I don't recall, probably through a Google search.

What is one of the things you like best about our LH board? The people

Were you shy or outgoing as a child? Shy

What did you want to be when you were growing up, and did that pan out? I wanted to be lots of things.. None of them panned out, but I enjoy what I do now.

What was your first pet? Rusty, a Pomeranian.

Did you go to your prom? If so, what was the theme & style of the time? I did. I think if I recall correctly the theme was "Take My Breath Away" this was back in 1998, so I'm not sure what to say about the style.. I wore a long sequined black dress with strappy sandals.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for taking the time to let us get to know more about you, Debbie! (And I hope you don't mind that I used some of the pictures you'd shared with the board in another thread! )
Nice to "know" you a little better, Debbie. Thumbsup
You have a great LHOTP autographs collections. girl! I only have Karen Grassle's autographs and I cherish it a great deal.
Yes: "These Happy Golden Years" is a book that had a kind of magic, but like other members of this board, I like all nine. Each one is great in its own. Smile
Vanesa.
