Black Friday

so did anyone go shopping? did you get any good deals?


Me I went and got some stuff from Macys and Claires. there was alot of places that were having good deals, but i had no money. lol

I try to stay away from all of this.....I did however have to work this afternoon after the rush....what a mess.......

I don't go shopping for the "Doorbuster" deals, because it's gotten too ugly. People are so obsessed with things that they completely disregard anyone else's feelings or safety. Just to get some . . . . thing. Is a cheap tv worth killing someone for?? Good grief.

(And Emily, just to clarify . . . I know that you're not of of the people who would go insane just to get some stuff. I'm just saying that the bulk of people who go to these early sales now are over-the-top zealots who will literally stop at nothing to get what they want.)

Just what is this world coming to when you get trambled to death because people are searching for a good deal? Maybe someone should remind these people about the true meaning of Christmas.

i know that is crazy to do that. me and my mom went at about 1. it was not crazy, but i would NEVER trample anyone for anyTHING. that is just insane. this was my first time going.

I also went out today, just to look around with my sister and the three boys ( my 2 and her 1). We were leaving target, we were walking up to get to the car, and as we where coming up to an empty spot some "jerk" just flew into the spot. He came within 6 inches to 1 feet of hitting us. Couldn't he waited the 30 seconds until we were out of the way???

The only shopping I did was grocery shopping. It's the perfect day to go, not crowded at all!

I heard about both stories, the Wal-mart and the Toys 'R Us...just unbelievable.

It sounds like you and your mom were smart, Emily, to wait until the afternoon to go. I heard it's usually crazier first thing in the morning, and not so ad later in the day. I've never gone myself on Black Friday, but if I ever did go, I wouldn't be one of the people standing outside the store in the wee hours of the morning!

I was on the couch resting all day, but I have done black Friday in the past and vowed about 3 years ago never to do it again! I went to Target, I think at 5am, and it was freeeeezing, windy, and blustery, and the line went half way around the building. I just stood there thinking to myself, "WHAT am I doing here?!?" I think all I saved was maybe $20 or something...it's not like I needed that much. I would much rather stay home decorating that day. Unfortunately, today even that didn't happen.

My family always makes it a point NOT to go shopping on Black Friday. We stay home if we can help it!
I can't imagne camping out in parking lots all night.

i think that it is insane to wait outside all night. i would be scared that something could happen. my mom is going shopping today.

i would rather wait and pay maybe a little more money then to have something happen.

My son waited outside Best Buy all night with his girl 'friend' one year, when the Wii first came out...my hubby slept in the car all night to make sure nothing happened to them--it even rained at one point and he went out and bought umbrellas for them! They were all snuggled up in lawn chairs and sleeping bags. It was quite a sight! But they both got their Wii's! :rainy: CrAzY!

I agree. Green Acres is the worst and that's exactly where it happened. After Thanksgiving, I usually stay away from the malls just to avoid this kind of thing. Maybe now these limited morning sales will stop.

i do not think that the limited morning sales will stop. the stores make way to much money to stop. they would be crazy to stop it.

I do most of my Christmas shopping online...the prices are usually better than in the stores...and I don't have to deal with the hassle of long lines and pushy people.

The only place that a person should be at 5 in the morning on November 28th....is in BED...sleeping!

Well, to me, Christmas is about Christ, not about doorbuster sales. I was talking to a few of my friends, and we agreed that Christmas has gotten too commercial, and people forget what it's all about. JMO.

And a poor man was trampled to death because of peoples greed. How terrible.

I stick to online shopping. A lot of great black friday deals are online...
I went shopping on a black friday once.... never again!

Two people were shot in Toys r Us in california.. crazy...

Exactly. What are we teaching our children if we're so busy buying gifts that we don't share with them the spirit of Christmas and the reason we celebrate it.

A tad over 2000 years ago, our Savior was born. 33 years later, he paid for this price. He drug a cross hundreds of yards just so ignorant ppl like me could live and God would let us.

In my family we get gifts, but when know that Jesus is the Real Reason for the Season. CHRISTmas is called that because of HIM. I think that a lot of people have forgotten that. It is extremely sad. I know that sometimes I lose sight, but then I am reminded and I look back to Him.
