A little circus performer.Lou looks for work in walnut grove afther his wife dies giving birth.Mrs olsen doesn't want him working in the store cause of his size.She also threatens to close her bank account if mr.Anderson hires lou.Lou then steals food from the store.MRs Olsen wants to press charges on him.

I think it was wrong what MRS>OLsen did. She sure can be very mean.I'am glad that in the end she fixed things and lou got the job at the bank, Smile

This is a favorite of mine. Mrs. Olsen has a cold heart thats for sure. She could have given Lou a job without any problem. He could have even helped at " Nellie's". Its sad some people can't get past physical appearances to see the real person and/or issues.
This episode is a great one for young kids to see.

Yes,I hope kids will learn from this,He just want any job to take care of his kid.Leat john was nice to help find a job for him. It's sad how ppl look down on ppl cuz of theire looks.

This was very sad to see the discrimination, Harriet never seems to learn for long. Her bias against black people, , overweight people, (like she's thin) Indians, the list goes on. I'm glad it ended well, but hard to watch at times.

It's also very similar to a Bonanza episode, "It's a small World"

Yes, I suppose if she became "too good" they couldn't write all the funny and not too funny things that come out of her mouth. I just felt they should remember a particular lesson and not use it again. To be fair though, "sometimes" it does take a few times before something sinks in when it is so much a part of you.

This is a good lesson for anyone. Just because, Lou is small adult. He should get any kind of job, he want. Not just at the circus. On The Waltons. His character played in the circus. He give John Boy, The Moby Dick book.

I had never seen this episode, until yesterday. It really showed Harriet's true colors, I think more than any other episode ever did. She is as spoiled and selfish as Nancy is! Lou is one of the characters who I wish they had shown again in another episode after this one. It said he stayed on in Walnut Grove, so I wish he had made another appearance.
