Does anyone else have nausea or bad headaches that seems to start after they start chewing gum? Especially the citrus kind. The mint (peppermint/spearmint/fresh mint, etc.) kinds never bother me.

Just curious.

Read the ingredients of the gum that you have that reaction to. Some gums have BHA, BHT, TBHQ or artificial sweeteners in them, and if you're sensitive to any of those ingredients, it can trigger headaches and even migraines. Splenda, Nutrasweet, sorbitol . . . those are pretty well-known triggers for a lot of people.

Hmmm, I will have to do that. It usually only happens like I said with the fruity/citrus ones.

The only thing I've read about chewing gum is that some of them has cinnamon in their recipe, and since some people can't stand cinnamon they have allergenic reaction to it... scratchead

Citrus/fruity gum can make me sick if I don't eat a lot. (Weird, I know.) For example, when my eating disorder was in it's worst stages I couldn't STAND any fruity gum, it made me absolutely sick! And I normally love fruity gum!

I used to not like cinnamon. I actually threw up one time eating cinnamon gum, but that was because I had a bug and was already sick. Maybe my former eating disorders caused that sick reaction to the gum. There are only a FEW gums besides the minty kinds that don't effect me as much. The Orbit berry flavor is ok. I can chew it for about an hour without it bothering me.

I use chew that when I was kid. I have tried trident. But, I don't know, if it makes me sick or not. Been such long time, I use that brand of gum.

Bubble gum sometimes makes me sick to my stomach as well. Watermelon always does it for me. I like Orbit's gums, the peppermint, sweetmint, and spearmint kinds.

Does your teeth all white & sparkling clean just like the Orbit's commercial?

I like cinammon a lot, but somne people just can't chew gum with a cinammon basis for they can have some allergenic reactions. My favorite chewing gum is flavored with mint, and I also liked the common tutti-frutty ones. No gum makes me sick - lucky me! grinsmiley -

And no...No gum makes my teeth white an shinning! HeeHee

Vanesa.

I have tried cinnamon gum before. Been years since, I have any. I love the smell of cinnamon. Reminds me of Christmas. Anytime, I smell cinnamon candles.

Cinnamon is one of my favorite flavors. I love how it goes along with apples! Smile

I think it helped mine just a bit.
