Harriet finds a bond from walnut grove and uses it to manipulate the people.She threatens to cash the bond,which would force thhe town to pay her money.She also tries to rename the name of the town.She wants to make nels the mayor.

I dis-like Harriet in this eppy. She always tries to take over things. Instill working it out with everybody.but least in the end all the older townpeoples came together.glad the other one won.

Were my ears hearing wrong while watching today, at the end of the show, when they said the party was at "Lars" home..the one that burned down? I know you can forget some things, but that episode was too big to forget. Very odd..
I checked TV.com and they said something similar:
Wasn't the old Lars Hanson house that they "fix-up" the same one that was made into the blind school and later burned down? I know that house has been used in numerous episodes as different houses, but in this case, Lars Hanson must have had two houses that looked exactly the same! Reply: Not only that, but Reverend Alden made it clear in Blind Journey: that the Hansen estate had been left to him and the Church (although he asked for the congregation's blessing for the use of the house as a blind school), not to Mrs. Oleson. Even if the house had survived the fire, the bond - like the rest of Hansen's property - would belong to the Church.

What I don't understand is even if the writers are new and maybe lazy about certain details, why doesn't a cast member, especially one longstanding, say something? I'm sure that happens in shows all the time. (By the way, this house burned last year")

I don't care much for this episode. I don't watch season 9 much. It's my least favorite season. Mrs.Oleson is nasty.

I'm watching this episode right now... I love the look that Nels gives Harriet when she says "I am aging gracefully"!

I think that's why I could never like her.... even Willie and Nellie matured and were much kinder in the later seasons, but Harriet never changed.
