*Happy sigh* Mom and I just got back from picking up Dad at the hospital, and bringing him home! Cheer

He's tired and a little weak, but doing well. Actually, I think he's doing better this time than he did the first time around.....except he's in a little more pain this time. We have Vicodin for him, thankfully. But he's so happy to be HOME. "There's no place like home" rings true over and over again.

It's funny......The first time Dad had surgery, and they released him to go home, it took HOURS and HOURS for us to get out. Literally. Well, because we'd been told he was being released, we hadn't prepared to stay there very long. So that last day was long and very tedious for everyone. SO, today, we PREPARED, baby! I brought my sketch book, AND my laptop, and some toys for Oliveah, and stopped and got coffee..........And we were there ten minutes. :Hahaha:
It really is an excellent hospital........And I hope I never see it again.

I took the highway, and ~~sped like a maniac to get home~~ drove us home at a leisurely pace. batEyes

We're HOME!!!!

:Hahaha: It really wasn't that bad. I had it drilled into my head from the race cars drivers in my family, that speed is for the race track, NOT for the road. So I actually didn't speed.........I just WANTED to. But, we were able to go 70 mph home, since that's the speed limit for the highway here - and that's a lot faster than the 55 mph that we would have done taking the back roads.

Yes! We were all thrilled, because they had mentioned Wednesday, which would have been really difficult to try and work out.

Thanks, Amy! The pain is a lot better even today.......It isn't constant, thankfully. Just, once in a while, he'll get a sharp pain - if he moves just wrong. But, he can't rest his laptop on his lap right now, because it's too uncomfortable. So, we're going to track down a tv tray for him, and see if that helps. He's determined to go to church tonight, because we have missionaries visiting who we haven't seen in about three or four years. I hope he's up to that!

Dad is actually..........camping tonight! :faint2: He took his Vicodin with him. So, if he has any pain, he's covered. He loves camping so much, it'll probably do him good. I had too many plans today to be able to go camping, but Dad isn't out there by himself. Two of my brothers are out there with him. Thumbsup
