WASHINGTON (AP) - Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly in space, has died. She was 61.
NASA confirmed her death Monday afternoon and President Barack Obama called her a national hero.
Her office in San Diego said she died of pancreatic cancer.
Ride rode into space on the shuttle Challenger in 1983 when she was 32. R.I.P.Read more here---->

Wouldn't it be great to go into space to cure Cancer. What a legacy she has left her family and friends.

I didn't realize she had cancer, still so young. She did leave her stamp in the world though and will be remembered by many.

....what a legacy she has left behind though. A true pioneer!
