This afternoon, I was outdoors painting a wooden swing. Well, all of the sudden, the sky turned dark.........the trees started swaying.......the wind started whipping and howling - all within about the space of three minutes. It just SWOOPED in. Then, the tornado siren started to blast. (Then......... then, the dog wanted to go out potty!! So, I'm standing there encouraging my dog to hurry, while the trees are circling around me, and the wind is trying to pick me up!! :Hahaha: My neighbors thought I was insane standing out there in that weather!) We called my Dad on his cell phone, because he was at the campground. We wanted to be sure he was alright. Then Dad two-wayed John & April to make sure the children were okay. It turns out that a tornado was spotted about 1/4 of a mile away from my home. I don't know if there was any damage done.

Caleby called while it was still raining hard. He was sobbing his little heart out. He'd heard my Dad, on the two-way, say that the tornado was near our home, and he was worried about me and my Mom. So, John & April let him call (thank the Lord!) so he could hear that we were okay. He sobbed into the phone "Are you okay?? I heerd there was a tornado at your house. I don't want you to get hurt! I wuv you so much!". Bless his little heart.

I hope that the rain didn't wash the paint off! But, at least the wind didn't carry the swing away. grinsmiley

What a scare. I hate storms like that. They usually happen when I'm home alone with the boys. Bless little Caleb's heart. That was very sweet of him. I'm glad all is ok. Hopefully the paint stuck.

:Hahaha: LARRY!!!

Glad you are all fine Savannah.......Glad April had some heart there in letting Caleb call you to help him since he was so scared......

I never experienced tornadoes till moving back here to Arkansas. A California girl is used to earthquakes. And since I have lived through both, I have decided an earthquake is better, just go pick your stuff up off the floor and put it back where it goes, rather than have to hop in your car and drive all over town gathering your things that the tornado took away.....................

Wow, well I am glad you are all ok. I was stuck in a tornado when I was a teen. I went camping with my sister and her husband in a pop-up trailor. Not only was there one tornado but there were 2!!! It was one of the scariest things I have ever been through. Luckily none was hurt. There was a lot of damage around us though.

I hope there was no damage to your home or anything. OhMy

I hate the wind. I've never been through a tornado fortunately, but I hate when it's really windy, especially at night. I'm glad you and the children are all okay Savannah!
