For those of you who have read the Rose Years, remember Swiney? I know that most story's in those books are true, but did Swiney really exist? What ever became of him? I've done research, and can find nothing on the subject.

I asked my Laurapalooza friends who are Laura experts. One of them, a researcher who spends months in De Smet at a time, answered that Abe and Swiney are fictional characters who were probably inspired by the Turner brothers John and Al. When I asked her where I could find out more information about them she said that they are mentioned in The Ghost in the Little House and that Rose met them as an adult when she came back to live at Rocky Ridge Farm.

Ah...The Turner boy...I think I remember him. I think that Rose raised one of those Turner boys as his own child. I'll chek more about him in "Ghost of the Little House". Thanks for the info, Marylin! Thumbsup

Vanesa.

Thank you so much! I've been wondering for a long time.

You mean nate?

“It was a huge shock when it came and very excited“

This was the duchess of cambridges take on how she felt when William proposed during their official engagement interview with ITN reporter Tom Bradby. There was a real giggle at the end. Cute.
