Claudia Cowan (born July 31, 1963, USA), is an American news reporter for the Fox News Channel. She began her career at KTTV-TV (FOX) in Los Angeles, where she worked her way up from being a messenger to an on-air reporter. She then moved to KMST-TV in Monterey as a desk assistant, and worked her way up to reporter, anchor of the noon news, then co-anchor of the weekend evening news. She also spent time producing and editing. From there, she spent seven years at KOVR-TV13 (CBS) in Sacramento, covering breaking news and state politics, and anchoring the morning and midday newscasts. In 1995, she moved to KRON-4 (NBC) in San Francisco to report for the evening news. In April 1998, she was hired by the newly launched Fox News Channel, as their Bay Area correspondent.

Claudia is a graduate of UCLA and is the daughter of actress Barbara Rush and publicist Warren Cowan.

She is the older stepsister of Melissa Gilbert, Jonathan Gilbert and Sara Gilbert.

So would Claudia be Sara's half- sister? I was thinking Sara's legal last name was Cowan. She just took on the Gilbert name because of the acting right??

Sara Gilbert was born on January 29, 1975, as Sara Rebecca Abeles at St. John's Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica, California, to Harold and Barbara Abeles. Barbara was previously married to the late Paul Gilbert. At the age of six, when Sara saw her sister Melissa Gilbert get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she told her mother that she wanted to be an actress, too. A string of commercials and, in 1984, an appearance in the CBS TV movie Calamity Jane (1984) (TV), led her to adopt the Gilbert family name. After failing to get the new "The Facts of Life" (1979) show, she eventually found success with "Roseanne" (1988). Sara spent a total of nine years on that show and was given time to be able to study at Yale University, graduating with honors in 1997. Aside from "Roseanne" (1988), she has provided the voice of "Laura Powers" on "The Simpsons" (1989), and starred in several movies including Sudie and Simpson (1990) (TV), Poison Ivy (1992) and Light It Up (1999).

Daughter of Barbara Cowan and Harold Abeles. Melissa is the adopted sister of Sara Gilbert. Sara is the natural daughter of Barbara Cowan and Harold Abeles. Cowan and late husband Paul Gilbert together adopted Melissa and Jonathan Gilbert (both are not biologically related to each other). Sara took the last name of Paul Gilbert when she began acting in 1984.

When Warren Cowen died, it said this:
He is survived by wife Barbara Gilbert-Cowan; two daughters, Claudia

Jonathan Gilbert; and eight grandchildren.
Melissa had 2, Sara 2, don't know is claudia is married..could some be Jon's?

From another obit in 2008:
Warren Cowan & Associates confirmed the iconic publicist died at
Cedars-Sinai Hospital Wednesday night, three weeks after he was
diagnosed with cancer.

His wife Barbara, daughter Claudia Cowan, and step-daughters Melissa
Gilbert and Sara Gilbert were at his bedside, the firm said. He is also
survived by daughter Bonnie Fleming and step-son Jonathan Gilbert, as
well as grandchildren.

Cowan became a partner in Rogers & Cowan in 1950. The firm was
one of the biggest entertainment PR firms in the world for decades, then
was sold in 1988 to Shandwick Plc., an English conglomerate.


Doesn't look like Jon was there, but that doesn't mean he didn't care.

I gotta tell ya, l've learned more about celebs researching subjects on this forum than I learned in my entire life! Its funny how one subject leads to another. The sight I got the above list from says that Matt and Patrick are birth brothers that were of course, both adopted by Francis Labyorteaux. I'm not so sure I believe that. Everything I have ever read said that they were "Adoptive" brothers.

I know one thing, doing Melissa Gilbert's family tree would be a real project!

That is for sure...and sometimes when a dad was married 5 times and busy and there were step-children and adopted children, it can either be real close or very scattered.

Claudia's mother is Barbara Rush. Kinda confused at first because her step mom is Barbara Gilbert-Cowan.
For those who don't know who Barbara Rush is (and I for one didn't), she was an actress in 7th Heaven. She played the mother of Rev Camden.
Very cool. She has actors everywhere in her family.

I gotta say that the adults in that family were WELL CONNECTED in shiow business......
