College

Hello everyone I am thinking of going to College, Its a Local College close to me here, I am thinking of going for a Health Care Aide it allows me to take the course without being a high School Graduate Its a 20 week course Once i am done the course it would allow me to work in a Hospital under the supervision of a nurse, assists hospital patients, personal care home residents, or home care clients. Health care aides help people to remain independent by assisting them with their physical, emotional, and social needs and their daily activities.

If i got a job in a Hospital the hours would be pretty flexible which would allow me to return to school to get my Grade 12 Which is my goal then maybe go for a Higher Position
What do you all think?

Thank you everyone for the kind words, I Contacted the School Today to see how i would be able to take the course if i need to quit my job to have time or if i would be able to take the course around my job hoping to hear back from them soon Really excited about it

I completely agree with Lisa. It's one of those jobs that you either know that you have in you or you don't. It takes a special person---not everyone is cut out for this. I have a feeling you really are, Jacob. And I like your plan too, to get your foot in the door and advance from there as you can get your schooling done.

I can't imagine that you would have to quit your job altogether. You should be able to hang onto it at least part time while you're taking the course. Let us know when you hear something! Good for you, Jacob!!

I Went to the School yesterday They recommended to finish grade 10 before taking the Health Care Aide Course so i made an Appointment for this morning to take a Test to see what grade i need to start at, I was Really Nervous today when i went to do the test but turns out i am smarter then i thought, I am Starting at grade 10 in September i need to take 3 subjects then i am done

I have been thinking of doing it for so long but i was always chicken out before i did it, I have learned so much already some of you probably remember how bad my spelling was when i first joined this forum, Now they told me i had done really well with my spelling it was actually grade 12 level

I am not surprised! You have come SO far since you first came here, especially in the last year or two. You have every reason to go back into your studies confidently!
