Hallmark is showing the second movie in The Shunning Series, based on books by Beverly Lewis.

Is anyone planning to watch this movie? I would dearly love to see it but alas, we don't have the Hallmark Channel in Canada. Is there anyone here from the States who is planning on watching who could record it for me? I know it will end up on dvd but I am dying to see it now!!

So glad they have someone that REALLY looks like she could be her daughter.
I have to work tonight but my dvr is working to save it for me. I will watch it tomorrow. I love that Michael Jr. keeps making these good movies.
I read these books SO long ago and they have such a good message to make into a movie.

This is the girl that has been on Switched at Birth. ( Dave, we need a bio...of Sherry too.) I was wondering if she really had a hearing or speech problem or just a good actress.

Sherry Stringfield was born in June of 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was the oldest of three children and mainly raised in Spring, Texas. In high school, she did both athletics and acting. Later, she attended the Acting Conservatory of the State New York at Purchase, from which she graduated in 1989 with a B.F.A. While attending the State University of New York at Purchase, she roomed with Parker Posey. During this time, she appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions. After working a short time in a theater box office, she accepted a 3 years contract as "Blake" in the daytime drama "Guiding Light" (1952). After a short break, spent with traveling, she returned to L.A. to co-star as "Laura Kelly" on "NYPD Blue" (1993).

Stringfield is best known to television audiences around the world as "Dr. Susan Lewis" on NBC's hit medical drama, "ER" (1994), a role which has garnered her three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress on a Drama Series as well as a Golden Globe nomination and a People's Choice Award nomination for Favorite Female Performer. With 112 Emmy nominations over the course of the show's run, it remains a critical and audience favorite.

Her additional credits include the feature films, Autumn in New York (2000) with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder and 54 (1998) with Mike Myers, Salma Hayek and Ryan Phillippe.
Has taught acting at the State University of New York.

The man she married, Larry Joseph, is not the one she left "ER" (1994) for.
Enjoys skiing, riding motorcycle, reading and traveling.
Graduated from Klein High School in Klein, Texas (just outside of Houston), and is remembered for "streaking" the Nation Honor Society induction meeting.

Is the only cast member to leave and return to "ER" (1994). Ming-Na Wen had a recurring role in season 1 but came back in season 6.

According to Steven Bochco, Sherry asked the producers to release her from her contract for "NYPD Blue" (1993) after the first season because she said she was not enjoying being a TV actress and wanted to return to New York. Less than a week after being let out of the contract, she was hired as a regular cast member for the new TV series "ER" (1994).

Story Line

The Confession - Based on the novel by New York Times best-selling author Beverly Lewis, “The Confession” is the continuing story of Katie Lapp, a young Amish woman who goes on a journey in search of her identity – only to find herself embroiled in a mystery that must be solved before she can be reunited with the “Englisher” mother who gave her up to adoption 20 years earlier.

Beverly Lewis, born in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country, is The New York Times bestselling author of more than eighty books. Her stories have been published in eleven languages worldwide. A keen interest in her mother’s Plain heritage has inspired Beverly to write many Amish-related novels, beginning with The Shunning, which has sold more than one million copies and was recently made into an Original Hallmark Channel movie. In 2007 The Brethren was honored with a Christy Award. She has been interviewed by both national and international media, including Time magazine, the Associated Press, and the BBC. Beverly lives with her husband, David, in Colorado.

I hope it was a great movie. I loved the book. Waiting expectantly for the DVD.

I watched this yesterday. It was truly another great Michael Jr. work.
There was a part when Sherry looks at Katie for the first time with them both knowing who the other was , it was just so tender and sweet.
Katie and Sherry both did so well in their roles. I see another sequel in this....it ends with a little hope for that. * wink



Sherry grew up about 30 minutes from me! We've even played Klien a few times! I loved her in ER, but watched her before that on Guiding Light. She is great!

Thanks Dave for all the work.....it makes it more fun to watch when you know a little more about the actors.

I caught a rerun of this on Hallmark. Glad I did. Very well done....and a good story. They certainly left room for a sequel. Michael did a great job on this one.

I watched it on Friday. It's been so long since I have read the books that I had totally forgotten the story. I wish they could have used more of the same actors from The Shunning.

This DVD comes out tomorrow! I'm going shopping. Can't wait.
