I just finished reading Caddie Woodlawn, and I wanted to know if anyone else had read it? Caddie reminded me a lot of a young Laura Ingalls Wilder (based on what we know about her from her books) because of her spirit and her sense of adventure. Plus, some of the scraps that Caddie got into with her brothers sounded just like things that could have happened to Laura and Albert on the LHOTP television show.

Yep, I sure did! I read it when I was in seventh grade, and I thought the same thing - she reminded me of Laura. There's a movie based on the book, too, if you're interested in watching it. It was made in 1990, and is available on DVD - I think Netflix has it if you use that service.

Hadn't heard of this. I'll definitely need to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

I am trying to get the Caddie Woodlawn movie through my library so I can see it. I found it on netflix, but it says that there is a long wait for it, and you never know how long the long wait will be with them. But I'm hoping that my library can get it!
