So, the other day, I am surfing YouTube and I see this trailer called "Divergent". It really captured my attention so I searched online to see if the movie is based in a book and sure enough, it is! I am currently reading the 1st in the series. It's really interesting
The book
The movie

My hubby & I just went to the new Hunger Games movie last night for my bday, and this was one of the previews....it looks SO good! It said it was a national bestseller, and the first thing I told my hubby was, "I need to read that book!!" Definitely going to get it.

Awesome Amy You will like it! The book I mean... I'm only on chapter 11 and really enjoying it. I'm sure the movie will be awesome. Ashley Judd, Kate Winslet, Shailene Woodley - all favorite actress of mine!

Okay I finished reading Divergent! It's so good! I already bought the 2nd book in the series and have started that one as well. Looks like these books are really getting around! Lots of people are reading it which means sometimes some people will put spoilers and so I'm staying off anything divergent related on the internet so I don't accidentally read anything that will ruin the book for me! LOL

I haven't read these yet, but I know a lot of people who rave about them. I'm going to pick them up for my daughter, as she loved The Hunger Games series.

Tell her to stay away from any reviews or places talking about the series because a lot of people have finished them and don't want her to run into spoilers! lol

I checked out Divergent on opening weekend. I LOVED IT!
I wore red and yellow representing Amity - the Peaceful faction
The movie stuck close to the book. I heard it had a great opening and so now Insurgent (the next movie in the series) will be made and released in March 2015. Can't wait!

We went to see it this weekend, too. It was good. My daughter wasn't thrilled with all the characters left out of the first movie, but other than that she loved it.

***Spoiler ahead***!!!!
SPOILER:
Yeah, I didn't see Uriah - maybe he will come out in the 2nd one... There was also less violence in the movie. There are less (and shorter) fight sequences, for example, and no one dies jumping off the train or gets stabbed in the eye during initiation. Oh, and the shooting of Tris' parents is not directly shown on-screen either.
There were a couple of reader-favored moments with Tris and Four which did not make the film cut. Like the flirty scenes with "Drunk Four" and his quips about her calling him a "boyfriend" — not to mention their steamy cuddle session in the shrinking room of his fear landscape and that ooh la la-worthy train ride over to Erudite HQ.
That's why it's best to read the book also! :)
But all in all... I thought it was pretty good. I'm really looking forward to Insurgent!

I started to read Divergent last night. Not that far into it yet but so far I am enjoying it. The beginning reminded me of The Hunger Games, because both Tris and Katniss both faced big changes at age sixteen.

Did you see the movie at all? I thought they really dragged out leading up to the choosing ceremony.

currently reading Insurgent... it took a couple of weeks for it to become available at the library. it's taking me longer to read than I thought it would but it's still interesting. Next up is Allegiant!
