Yesterday, my Wife and I went to see "The Son of God". If you are a Christian, I implore you to see this movie. It was marvelous! Diogo Morgado is wonderful as Jesus and Roma Downey of Touched By An Angel fame plays Mary. Great movie!

I learned after watching the Passion of the Christ in the theater that I need to watch these movies in the comfort of my own home. I was an emotional wreck in the theater after watching that one and was practically sobbing, right there in the theater! I do want to see this, but I'll wait for the dvd.
I don't like how 'Hollywood handsome' Diogo is....the ultra white teeth? Hmm, somehow not how I 'picture' Jesus in my mind back then. But I'm sure he did a great job of acting in it. Honestly I don't think I'll ever see another Jesus as good as the actor in Jesus of Nazarath, which I own and will always be my favorite movie/mini series portraying His life. I own "Jesus" too, which was very good, and of course Jim Caviezel was great in Passion of the Christ.
On "Rotten Tomatoes", 24% of critics like this and 82% of audiences. That is quite the wide spectrum! I don't get it. But I guess it's not 'meant' to be like the critically acclaimed Passion of the Christ.

Funny you should say that Amy. Sandy and I talked about the same thing as we were going home. About watching it at home. The sweetness of Diogo is incredible in this movie. He does not come off as a pretty boy Hollywood type. I think you will like it.

I remember Robert Powell in "Jesus of Nazareth." He really had the look! Not that we know what Jesus looked like, but you know what I mean. I remember him saying that, between scenes, he'd roar around the studio lot on his motorcycle in full costume. Got some very strange looks!

I'm glad to hear that it's so good! I've heard a LOT of bad things about the Noah movie.
