PostSubject: 2014 Daytime Emmys   Mon Jun 23, 2014 7:10 am

Did any of you happen to catch the Daytime Emmys this year?  I HATE the fact that it wasn't televised, but grateful I have a computer to watch it on!  I've very happy for Y&R winning Outstanding Drama...and all their other wins.  I am bummed at how badly GH was snubbed this year.  The category that most upset me was Outstanding Younger Actor...I was rooting for 4 out of 5 to win, and the 5th guy won!  LOL

Good thing about it not being televised:  no commercials, so the show ended faster.  Also, NO TIME LIMIT ON SPEECHES.

Bad thing about it not being televised:  The sound quality, sometimes the video froze, it wasn't censored (meaning a WHOLE lot of cuss words.  Sharon Osbourne was out of control!  So was Kathy Griffin).  And...NO TIME LIMIT ON SPEECHES!

The 4 girls hosting the red carpet were a disaster...some of them even spoke very inappropriately.  What an insult to the actors!

A few of the actors even seem wasted as the time went on (hello...Kelly Monaco!).  Michelle Stafford and Jason Thompson (also from GH) were presenting along with Kelly...and they both looked very, very uncomfortable and embarrassed.  Even the actress who plays her TV mom (Nancy Lee Grahn), who didn't attend, tweeted about her being wasted!

So did any of you get to watch?  Or at least hear about the nominations/wins?  Thoughts!  [smile]

Oh, btw, fun fact: Nancy Lee Grahn, who I just mentioned above, was on LH, playing the saloon girl whose back gets dried by Almanzo! LOL

I hate that it wasn't on TV. I am happy that Y&R won for outstanding daytime drama. I like Eileen Davisdon, but I think Heather Tom should have won. I so think that Elizabeth Hendrickson should have won. She had better and more dramatic scenes than Amelia Heinle. Hopefully next year, the award show is on TV if they have it again next year.

EVERYONE on the category with Amelia Heinle deserved it more! Don't get me wrong, I love Amelia Heinle and I'm happy for her...BUT...out of all 3 ladies from Y&R that were nominated, Elizabeth Hendrickson should have gotten that. The other 2 ladies from GH (Jane Elliott and Kelly Sullivan) deserved it a whole lot more too! In fact, the fact that Jane Elliott is now a supporting actress instead of a LEAD ACTRESS is downright insulting!

Heather Tom is awesome too, but I love Eileen Davidson and I'm happy for her. Even though I don't watch DAYS, I think she's fabulous and I loved her on Y&R. She's coming back to Y&R again too.

The snub for GH was so obvious it was sickening!

That was fun to read through!  Thanks for posting that, Julie! Thumbsup

Wow, Bold and the Beautiful sure has come a long way.  I don't watch the soaps anymore, but I remember back in the day that was the corniest of all the CBS soaps.  I can hardly believe all these awards they've won! OhMy

Wow, amazing that the Steve Harvey show won against those other talk shows!  I'm surprised he wasn't even nominated though for Family Feud...he's good and that's a good show, too.

I'm happy to see Good Morning America finally getting their due.  I love that NBC Today show has been knocked off it's liberal thrown (sorry, couldn't help but throw that in there. batEyes  ).

WOW, a PBS food show won against the almighty Food network!  Awesome!  I've seen that show, too---it's really good.

I don't watch Katie's show, but I have seen it, and I can see why she tied with Dr. Oz.  She is SO much more well-suited to something like that than the evening news! Yikes  Still not a fan of hers, but I do think her show is pretty good.

Happy to see SO many of my old favorite guys from Y&R nominated for best actor! Thumbsup

I can hardly believe they don't televise this awards show anymore though...that hardly seems fair.

i LIKE ELLEN. But i wish the talk would have one. I don't like katies show either. I do however think the  speeches should be limited. Some people go over to long. Tho I'M glad the view didn't win. Can't stand that show anymore. Smile
