I wonder if maybe part of it could've been the age difference too?

~laughs~ Maybe Laura was like my getting-close-to-being year old kitten, Nytro. Nytro just can't figure out why the male cats are stalking her. She just hisses and glares at them. :haha: Smart cat. (I just rescued her from "a dumb male".)

Ma (in the books) was very quiet and proper. Although Laura records Ma's concerns about the railroad camp, not much else is recorded concerning any cozy talks between them like it was on the show.

I love how shocked and confused Laura was about Almanzo asking her home from the revival meetings when Pa was right there to do it! :haha: Ma did seem somewhat concerned about Laura's young age. Remember the snatch of conversation Laura over hears when she comes in the front door?
