Opie discovers coffee.

I had posted this earlier, but realized that there were two Fife-able moments in it...and I didn't have time to fix it before I had to leave. So I did what anyone who has had experience in running afoul of Fife would do: DELETE! Laughing

Yesterday I was having a cup of coffee when the phone rang. So I left my cup on the table, and went to answer it..... When I came back a few minutes later, I found Opie standing on my chair with his front paws on the table. He was leaning as far as he could so that he could reach my coffee, and was drinking it as fast as his little tongue would go! I scooted him off the chair, and went to get myself a different cup of coffee. (I love my kitty, but sharing my coffee with him is a bit much. :gross: ) A little bit later, I saw Opie shoot through the room like a bolt of lightning....Then he shot back through again....Back and forth he went like a little maniac! Then he ran back through - this time, chasing the dog! When Brianna stopped running from him, Opie leaped over her - nose to tail - then took off for the stairs. He ran up and down the stairs for a few minutes, then raced into the room where the children's toys are. He jumped up onto a shelf, knocked over a basket of Veggietales toys, jumped down again and started batting Veggies all over the room! Opie finally did calm down, and then fell asleep next to Brianna.....But Brianna kept her eye on him the whole time he was next to her! Laughing

I'm pretty sure that the world is not ready for Opie on caffeine! :Hahaha: Oh, if only coffee would give ME that kind of energy!!

The thing is, I don't drink my coffee very strong. But apparently it's strong for an Opie-sized critter. Wink

Our old cat, Padre, used to love coffee. You couldn't leave your cup unattended because she would get into it every time. Of course the caffeine didn't affect her like it did Opie though. Laughing

Tim has been having to use something to cover his glass of water to protect it from Caeser though. He has caught Caeser more than once drinking from his glass. One time Caeser was sticking his paws in the glass to get to the water that was near the bottom of the glass. We wondered how many times he did it before we discovered him drinking from his glass. :gross: I'm glad I drink bottled water. Laughing

I'm sure Opie wanted milk in his, but didn't want to draw your attention before he had his share.
Our cat Cassie likes ice tea. We have to be careful not to leave it sitting around. Her stategy is to knock it over first though...then drink.
I think she knows that if she can't fit her whiskers in the glass without bending them she might get stuck!

You might try leaving a donut out with it next time. Opie might be good at dribbling that too!
